Dismissed.War of Ages.Haste the Day
[Where did my As I Lay Dying review go? It has disappeared somehow but I'll have it back up soon (if I backed it up).
Dave Arthur, of the Southern California band, DISMISSED, did the singing vocals on three of the As I Lay Dying “Shadows are Security” tracks including “Confined” and “Darkest Nights” and did some of the screaming as well. You can find out more about Dismissed by clicking here.
In related news, Dismissed are recording on July 4th-13th. They are doing 5-6 songs and will release it as an ep. More on this and their name change shortly…
Two new albums came out yesterday:
Terminal “How the Lonely Keep”
Haste the Day “When Everything Falls”
both are out on Tooth and Nail Records
Make sure to pick up War of Ages “Self Titled” to be released on July 5th through Strike First Records because it’s going to rule you! I’ve heard some cuts from the album and I’m impressed with these guys. Look for a feature around the release date.
More news later today………..
[As some of you might know, we have switched hosting companies as of this past weekend. It went smoother than expected and I owe that to two people-- Jorel of Unshadowed.net and David McDonald of WatchingRed.com. Jorel handles our hosting now and as you know, David was the chief designer of this Indie Vision Zine. I update the forums, featured bands, etc but he is the man who designed the framework of it. So this means we have the same great site at the same great speed and ad free! Now this leaves us with a question.....
Where did the news since June 18th go? I’m really not sure but I think somehow when uploading the site, I uploaded an older version and the new news got deleted somehow. Yeah. Chuck, Len, and I will try to bring back the band news to current form.
As always, thanks for the support and let us know if you have any questions.

Nobody puts Chuck in the corner
[ Demon Hunter has finished writing over half of the songs for their upcoming project. They will start recording at the Compound studio in Seattle on July 18th with Producer Aaron Sprinkle.
Thousand Foot Krutch has added a new song “Absolute” from their upcoming album “The Art of Breaking” to their purevolume page.
Emery has finished recording their new album “The Question”. It will hit stores everywhere on August 2nd.
Fighting Jacks have been hard at work recording and mixing a bunch of new songs, some of which they will be posting online very soon.
Eager Seas have pushed back their album release date to January 2006.
The Supertones may be playing their final show this October, but John Wilson, the band’s drummer, recently confirmed a rumor on the Supertones.com forums that the band has a final studio EP in the works. Details on the EP are scarce, but it will not be released to stores and will only be available at the band’s live shows this Fall on the final leg of their farewell tour.
For a limited time, when you join the Floodgate Records email list, they’ll send you a free summer sampler featuring The Myriad, Kate Miner, Forever Changed, Mourning September, Yellow Second, East West, Cool Hand Luke, and Denison Marrs. Click here to sign up.
The Redemption Song has been playing weekend shows lately and will continue to do so while they write their next full length record throughout June and July. The band hopes to be done writing in time for an October recording time.

IVM on MySpace, Dismissed..O.C. Supertones
[We had another Earthquake and it freaked me out a little bit. It was a quick and painless jolt but still unnerving to say in the least. Try operating machinery when an Earthquake hits, yeah....
Did I tell you that IVM is on MySpace? If you didn’t know then click this link and listen/download 4 new tracks. (One of the tracks is old Dismissed but they’re my favorite band;)
Speaking of my favorite band on the planet, DISMISSED, they also are up on MySpace and have 3 tracks to listen. No they aren’t the new ones, yet. It’s coming people, soon. Their website is down and they are changing their name so news on the matter will be announced shortly…..
We’re on a MySpace roll today so here are some more links to waste time:
The HotShot Freight Train are up on MySpaceand one of the coolest new bands to hit the music indestroy. If you don’t know who are what they are, then just click here and listen away. Another new favorite band of mine…
The OC Supertones are now on MySpace. Visit them here and listen to music
One Way Worship is up on PureVolume, click hereIt’s a pretty diverse album and like I’ve mentioned previously, one of the few worship albums I’ll listen to. COOL HAND LUKE being the other worship band I can’t get enough of. Speaking of which, where are they? Come back Cool Hand Luke, please. Cool Hand Luke > The Chariot. Don’t you realize this guys (you in the band)?
Well this is officially the end of network television. You know that time of year where absolutely nothing appears on the tube except for the well placed viewing of REPEATS!! I seriously could do without the one billion CSI reruns or Without a Trace marathon. Heck throw in The OC and LOST into that mix and you have a plentiful heaping of regurgitated goo. I mean I watch a few of those shows but I just hate re-runs. Maybe I’m a bit irritated by things. Yes yes, I know. It’s all cool, I’m learning to change alright? Good. Anyway, in between all of the mismatch repeat tubeville we have an amazing portion of Reality TV including but not limited to: Average Joe, Super Nanny, Nanny 911, I want to be your Mom, Trading Spouses, Live Lobotomy, Life in a Psych ward, Grandma meets Alien, Survivor, um, Trading this, trading that, blah blah blah etc. So summer=Reality TV and REPEATS. I’m really out of fresh ideas as I write this, bare with me. What I’m trying to say is that Summertime equals boring tv and the entrance of sunny weather to our systems. That can be a good thing and a bad. I tend to ride the fence on the matter. Well, have a blessed night and a happy tomorrow. Turn off the TV. I need to spend more time reading the Bible and less time playing video games. I make excuses.
(Wouldn’t “Life in a Psych Ward” be groovy tv? You know what, I taking out a patent on the idea! The fact that I just said Groovy and Psych Ward in the same sentence is utterly terrifying. Yeah, I’m done stick a fork in me)
Over and Out,
-Brandon

Pennylane R.I.P….Hit me Baby One More Time
[Well it's official people, PENNYLANE has said their farewells and they are now gone forever. I hope you people enjoyed their last cd and music they filled our souls with. You can still find them on MySpace where former front man, David, is posting his solo work. PENNYLANE R.I.P, you will be missed.
www.myspace.com/pennylane
Did anyone catch the show “Hit Me Baby One More Time” last night? Oh man talk about hilarious. My favorite had to be Vanilla Ice dancing it up. To realize that he actually won was the scariest part of all. Hey the music industry loves making a clone, maybe they can model Vanilla after Eminem? A thought…In related news, this very show was rudely interrupted by the Emergency Broadcasting System alerting all of us Californians by the impending doom of a horrible Tsunami. I had my life jacket and raft all ready but guess what, they tricked us all. No, in fact I couldn’t ride my raft into the glorious night while catching one of the biggest waves in history. Instead I was left with an interrupted show and a confused mind. Gotta love those news broadcasters. At least my house isn’t shaking or could it……?

Um, earthquake? As I Lay Dying, Livin at Wal Mart, Good food..
[Yeah, so there was this little bitty earthquake yesterday morning and guess what? I slept right through it....... Man if the big one hits, I'm good as squished...
For all 10 of you who were confused by the bull dozing of the old Indie Vision Music Record Label site, this is still run by the same person. If you are trixy enough, you’ll find the old label site still up on our server. Where do you find it? , Ahh, click here and relive the Indie Vision yesteryear….
Speaking of this site. I’ve never really revealed our hit/traffic count before. Well I feel we’re all pretty honest here and if you share, I will too. We get a nice helping of 200-225 Unique Visitors a day here at the good old Indie Vision ranch. That aint bad considering I lost almost everyone after the fall of the infamous IVM Record Label. Not that anyone cared or anything.
New As I Lay Dying cd “Shadows of Security” is out tomorrow! You can buy your copy from www.interpunk.com www.smartpunk.com or any Best Buy nationwide. I’m sure stores like Target, Wal Mart, etc will have it soon enough. Boy, there sure aint nutin like shoppin at good ole Wal Mart. You know if you live in a Motor Home, you can park it in their parking lot for FREE!! “I live in a van down by the river!!!!!” NUFAN comes out tomorrow too, not that I’m promoting it or anything
Well I went to this really good Mexican Food Restraunt in Laguna Niguel, CA. yesterday called Fred’s and boy was I full. Good chips too. If you live in the OC, find it. Corner of Golden Lantern and Camino Del Avion. Where’s that? My backyard, well a long time ago it was, sort of. “Shut up Brandon” Okay.
Hey, we have new albums in the Web Store! Click Here to Enter that Fan-tabulous Indie Vision Music Webstore. Now open to kids of all ages. You might want to check with Mommy or Daddy before using their Credit Card though. I do not endorse unapproved Credit card spending…..Yes, the store is now safer than ever!! We have a new and improved shopping cart via CCNOW.com with one of the most secure carts this side of the Mississippi!
New news in my life occurs in the form of a diet. Yes, I am on a strict diet of less than a 1000 calories a day to shed those extra pounds. I try to work out when I find the time but with machining, I lack the precious time of a teenager. Work is dirty, dirty is fun, dirty equals money. Oh yeah baby.
This has to be about the biggest waste of space I have ever written in my entire life. I guess I’m in one of those big ole’ sarcastic moods and I really don’t feel like discussing music. It’s one of those open the windows and turn off the stereo days. Man I wish I had a Ford Mustang right now.
I’ll be back tomorrow with a music update and if not….I got squished by the roof………………………………………………………………………….

The best news of the day… A pizza man was shot in the leg
and yet still delivered his pizza. There aint’ nothing better than Fast Food, wouldn’t you say? Talk about a diligent employee..
In a recent poll by the Washington Post-ABC, more than half of Americans disapprove of the Iraq War. Despite what our Government’s interests may be, we ARE liberating the people of Iraq. You can argue till you’re blue in the face (myself included) but I wouldn’t want to live in a country governed by a ruthless dictator. Oh shut up. Safety however is a concern and things aren’t getting better in that country, I agree. I liken the fight between insurgents and innocent civilians to that of the film “Pleasantville”. Remember how certain people wanted to live in Black and White and the others in color? Yeah…

[As I Lay Dying has filmed a video for their lead off single, "Confine". Yeah this is the one Dave from Dismissed sings on. The lame thing about it all is that they didn't ask him to be in the video. Howdy partners! Mxpx is back! The Man is Alive!
[Hello all! I'm just crankin' out some good ole Toby Keith in my pick up right now. I'm goin' huntin' for racoons!! Yee haw bros!! Got my ten gallon hat on, puka shells, tribal tattoo, and I'm headin' for the rode-o! Yeaaaahhhh DUDE!
I’m kidding. I don’t hunt and I certainly don’t listen to country bros (they haven’t earned the right to be labeled ‘artists’). ha ha.
I forgot to mention earlier, we have a new featured band! Mxpx is back and better than ever. As a tribute to their career the past decade and a new album “Panic” I’ve decided to add them as our featured band. The band has done alot for pop-punk and influenced a TON of copy cat clones over the years. Sure there were a ton of bands before them but there is only one Mxpx and their take on pop-punk is unique in it’s delivery. Celebrate the new Mxpx and buy their album everywhere next Tuesday.
Anyway, there is a tiny little news blurb to announce. The IndieVisionMusic shopping cart that I’ve had for 5 years will be expiring in 2 weeks and I will NOT be renewing it this time. I am searching frantically for a new shopping cart and I think I’ve settled upon CCNOW.com for your shopping needs. It’s the same one the honorable Facedown Records uses, so it’s completely trustworthy and secure. I am also pondering hosting a IndieVisionMusic storefront through MusicChristian.com which would mean you could find ALL of your favorite bands under one roof!! Any comments? What would you like to see us do with the IVM Store? Comment in the forums when you get the chance under “Indie Vision News”.
You can listen to THREE new Man Alive songs at their website, click here
That’s all for now buckaroos!

Madagascar
[Hey peoples.
Good times! Good times! I saw Madagascar with my friend… let me just say, “it’s not a children’s movie, even though it’s supposed to be” it was good none the less, I give them dibs on maybe trying for the whole Shrek goofiness.
Also…. I plan on writing devotionals, I’ve been crazy busy and I hope to have one or two by the end of summer.
Please be praying for me… I just rededicated my life to Christ, actually I realized that I hadn’t fully given my heart to God in the first place. Mainly though is this: please pray for my gf, I want the best for her, even if it means me no longer being around by her. She’s amazing, her friends, my friends, both of our families really like this relationship and they pretty much all tell us that we are doing really well… so I suppose that is a blessing!
Also….. I have been thinking about maybe taking a hiatus from a lot of stuff I do in music, I have trimmed down my CD reviews (i’ll still do them), and I have called it quits (for now) on me trying to do concerts by myself… I’m probably going to help out with some events, but that’s it.
Save the best for last, PLEASE pray for my buddy Chuck, he’s cool and I hope he’s doign alright.
When life gets busy, man it gets busy, but ALWAYS ALWAYS pray to God, life is way harder if a person does not.
Peace everyone!
God Bless you all, I love all of you dearly so!
