Symphony of Heaven, the symphonic death metal project from Owensville, IN, has a new lyric video up for their song “Stratagem”. Broken Flesh has decided to add on Death List and Obliteration Guitarist Bryan Nikkel as a new Bassist. The band went through some lineup struggles last year, with the departure of brother Jacob and Josh Mathes, the band’s vocalist and bassist, and Guitarist Dakota Whiteside. The band would then add on Bassist Kyle Fitzgerald. The band would announce that Kyle was departing from the band due to family reasons. They would then add on Bryan Nikkel, who had played with founding Guitarist and Vocalist Kevin Tubby in Death List and Obliteration.… Continued →

The death metal band Soul Embraced has come out of their hiatus and are making a new album. Today the band announced they were doing shows and put out a post asking where fans would want to see them next. Former Bassist Jeff Bowie has also announced that he has rejoined the band and is pulling “double duties”, with Soul Embraced’s labelmates Becoming Saints. So with that, I think it’s safe to assume that Jon Dunn of Demon Hunter is no longer apart of the band.… Continued →

The death metal/deathcore band Your Chance to Die has some exciting news. They recently announced news that the album artwork, release date and tour dates were coming soon. The band started several years ago in 2007 with founding members, Missi Avila (Vocals) and Coca Avila (Guitars). The band has been on Red Cord Records up until 2016, when they signed to Dave Ellefson’s label EMP Label Group. Their new and third full-length album, Ex-Nihilo will be released on April 21st. Undead Metal (for those who don’t know what that means, it’s my play on Christian death metal) band, Taking the Head of Goliath has released a great live recording of their first show; the first show of one band and one of the last for the band For Today. “The Expulsion of Putrid Illusion” reminded me of Abated Mass of Flesh, with brutal-ness of the guitars, the speed of the drums and the guttural vocals.… Continued →

Yes, the final band has been announced! Taking the Head of Goliath is the new band signed to Rottweiler Records. The band started in 2015 and has hit some popularity recently. The band played their first show on one of For Today’s final shows. The band has a new Live EP titled Beyond Brutal Live. The band is also best known for, or how most heard about them, was Luke Renno joining the band. Luke Renno is the founding member of Crimson Thorn. The slamming brutal death (UnDead) metal band, Abated Mass of Flesh has announced their sophomore album, Lacerated. The band formed in 2011 as a solo project of Zach Plunkett (Guitars). Zach later added his brother, Matthew Plunkett on Vocals, Logan Hayworth on Bass and Kade Dodson (ex-Tony Danza Tapdance Extravagaza) on Drums. Hayworth and Dodson quit the band and were replaced by Max Tubville (O Majestic Winter) and Riley Wingate, as well as Thomas Wingate on Rhythm Guitars. Luke Renno, one of the founders of UnDead Metal (I’m going to make it a thing one day) band Crimson Thorn, has recently joined a new band, called Taking the Head of Goliath. Renno formed Crimson Thorn in 1991 with Guitarist Miles Sunde, Bassist Dylan Jennigis, and Drummer Dave Quast. Throughout the years, the only original members that remained throughout Crimson Thorn’s initial existence were Renno and Sunde. Crimson Thorn has been inactive since 2008 or so. On October 20, 2016, Taking the Head of Goliath announced that Renno joined the band as their Bassist/Vocalist.… Continued →

The Unblack/Death Metal (someone needs to come up a term for Christian Death Metal. Maybe UnDead Metal?) band Demoniciduth has signed to Vision of God Records and are due to release their album Enemy of Satan soon. Demoniciduth started in Sweden with Taanak (Bass, Vocals) and a few others. The band has settled on the lineup of Taanak, Lord Ekkletus (Guitars, BGV), Sir Krino (Drums). Vision of God Records has signed band like Brutal Cross, Eyes of the Defiled, and Elgibbor. The band signed to Vision of God earlier this year, and are preparing to release their new sophomore album.… Continued →
