I just have to say it straight off the bat, this is one of the best ska/punk/rock albums I’ve heard in the past few years. There have been a lot of great ones but there is just something entirely unique that makes October Light deserving of such praise. They make tight, rhythmic ska music with stellar production and with clear, upfront vocals as a featured element. I was browsing iTunes this morning and found a sweet pre-order from the band Phinehas for their upcoming ep “Fight Through The Night” (available December 16th). You can even listen to the samples on iTunes. It appears to be an “acoustic” release with the band backing up Sean’s strong hit worthy voice (if any guy is made for radio, it’s him). One song “Book of Names” features Garrett Russell of Silent Planet. This Ep follows the same feel as their 2013 “The Bridge Between” Ep. It appears that this will be an independent release as the label says “Phinehas LLC”.… Continued →
