August 1, 2018. Raven Faith Records and Thumper Punk Records have jointly teamed up for the release of “Turn It Up!” from Fountain Valley, California, based punk band CPR. David has announced an end to the much loved and adored Christian punk rock label, Thumper Punk Records. He started it as a music site in 2008 and we all watched it grow as a record label the past 10 years. Him and his label will be sorely missed but we commend him for wanting to devote more time to his family. It’s tough in this scene and I know exactly how he feel coming from my perspective. With my experience the past 18 years I can tell you honestly that I have thrown in the towel a few times, wanted to a few more times, and have been battling personal doubts about my work even more times.… Continued →

I had been patiently awaiting this 3 song acoustic release since it was first announced via Thumper Punk Records. So much about this little ep spells perfection to me. I have been a fan of Mike’s work since as long as I can remember. I first heard “Against The Grain” (Altar Boys) as a mere youngster just discovering what music was like in the 80’s and especially what “Christian” music would mean to me in later years. Today is the release of Jimmy Sisco’s contribution to the 3 Song Acoustic EP series. As the singer/guitarist/songwriter for ABSOLVED and Platoon 1107, Jimmy has released some of the biggest, most aggressive music on Thumper Punk Records. For his 3 Song Acoustic EP, the music is delicate, balanced and soulful, with one track of 70s era folk and two readings of Old Testament scripture over ambient backgrounds. In a universe where everybody and their grandmother has a punk band, its refreshing to hear a new band that stands out. This particular band is Pleading guilty and from the first track they immediately stand out above the crowd. This punk rock foursome hail from colorado and as a fellow Colorado resident I was very involved in the scene during the late 90s. We had some great punk bands but sadly only a handful of christian bands. Of course the most well known band was Five iron frenzy and Pleading guilty would have fit in nicely alongside them in the scene during the late 90s.… Continued →
