Newsboys hit single “God’s Not Dead (Like A Lion)” has been certified Platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), for sales in excess of 1 million. The new certification follows almost a year after it went gold last May. The song was written by Daniel Bashta, who we also cover on IVM. Los Angeles singer songwriter John Stratton is giving away 2 of his brand new songs. Both “Shadows” and “It’s You” come from his album We’ve Only Just Begun that just debuted streaming last week. While I definitely recommend picking up both tracks, “Shadows” is definitely a soul-blues-rock jam for the likes of John Mayer/Ed Sheeran.

2 decades ago, brothers Aaron and Jesse Sprinkle played in a band called Old Poor Lu. While they retired that band in 2002, it looks like the siblings have returned to form a new band with each other once again! Jesse announced the new music in a demo of him playing Gretsch Bell Brass drums while Aaron takes the vocals. Winter Jam 2015 shattered the tour’s attendance records with over 600,000 concertgoers hitting events over 47 dates, which included 38 sold-out shows. The tour hit capacity crowds in many large venues (15,000+) including the biggest single show at Atlanta’s Georgia Dome which surpassed 30,000! Congrats to the tour on it’s continued success!

Burkum previously worked as the guitarist for the “first incarnation” of Audio Adrenaline in addition to taking on the lead vocals when Mark Stuart could not.
