He is halfway through a 4 EP set of metal genres [doom, black, death, grind] which follows the story line“of a man named Kafla Serlaro as he loses his faith and times of living through the Black Plague.”
I just received an email announcing that Tooth & Nail’s upcoming documentary No New Kinda Story has been delayed yet again. It supposedly will release in a few weeks but at this point we’ll have to wait & see. Those who pre-order should receive an email with access to the first 20 minutes of the finished film.
Solid State Records will release A Midnight Clear: A Solid State Christmas Compilation on Nov. 24th. The label’s first Christmas compilation features bands from the label including like Fit For A King, Wolves At The Gate, The Ongoing Concept as well as special guests August Burns Red, For Today & Memphis May Fire. I received an email from Merchline this morning announcing that because of production delays Tooth & Nail’s ‘No New Kinda Story’ documentary film has been pushed back a few weeks. Pre-orders will be shipped by Nov. 1st. Merchline told me (via Twitter) that the digital version will be available in November as well as the “final edit of the film is still being finalized & wrapping up soon.”

Sonshine Festival was a huge success, as far as getting to see some amazing groups perform and being able to interview a few bands. Honestly, the crowd was down from a year ago. One of the groups kind enough to chat with me was Those Who Fear, a hardcore outfit on Facedown Records. They were a long way from their hometown of Pittsburgh, PA, and it showed a little bit in our short interview. I think they must have been driving all night, because they seemed a little tired. That’s alright, I still love them. John Healy and Jacob Wilder share their thoughts on Sonshine, the new album, and fan response. Enjoy!
