I would like to give a personal shout out and sincere thank you to those of you that have contributed the past few months towards keeping IVM functional and up on the net. Just dropping you all a line to let you know that we are on Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and a group page on LastFM. There is also Google+ but does anyone really use that site (I Don’t). Anyway, check us out on those networks and join in the fun.
I have decided to come to your our readers for a little feedback on content here at IndieVisionMusic. If you’ve seen our twitter you may have noticed a tweet from myself about scaling back CCM coverage here. Our focus at IVM has always been on independent Christian artists/musicians/bands/songwriters and that fervor hasn’t changed since day one. However, in the past year or so we have been increasing our coverage of more, how do I say this politely, mainstream Christian music. …continue reading …

A full album stream (Teaser) of Man Alive’s new album “A Light Goes On” coming to Indie Vision Music this Thursday. Brace yourselves!
I have decided to come to you, our most beloved and devoted readers to help us with a project. As you might have seen this year, I posted news (and in a podcast) about the 10 year anniversaries of Dismissed “Taking the Good With the Bad”, Forgotten Arrival “Through Your Eyes”, and Next in Line “Traffic” albums that I released through Indie Vision Music back in 2003. These are not well known releases nor did they garner any awards, these are simply fan loved releases that have gained new fans over the globe over the course of the past 10 years. They were little albums by bands just getting their start here in California. Members of these bands have gone on to start and join other groups such as Kings to You, A Bright Sky, Little Hurricane, and Confide. Not to mention Dave Arthur’s (Dismissed/Kings to You) contribution to the now classic As I Lay Dying album “Shadows are Security”. So what is the purpose of this news post? Well it’s simple really, what I need is some talented “Remix” artists to take these songs and re-imagine them in a EDM/Dance/Club/Dubstep type realm. The contest is to remix any song from the 3 albums (and two eps from 2004) then send them back to me. If I like what I hear, you’ll be notified and then your song will be included on a very special “FREE” IVM REMIX compilation to release as a download on this site later in the year. These songs will not be sold or put up anywhere but right here on IVM. What do you get? Well you will get tons of free publicity, promotion, and hype dedicated to your alias/artist name. We will include a link to all artists featured on the REMIX compilation and additional links to your iTunes/Amazon pages where your music is sold. We will also be blasting our newsletter list, all social networks, and hopefully other like minded webzines/magazines about the finished project when it goes live. Songs will also be featured in an upcoming IVM Podcast. I truly believe that our free promotion will greatly increase visibility for your music and hype behind your name. Read below for details and email address to contact …continue reading

With all the festivities happening in our family today I almost forgot to mention an important milestone for IVM. Today just happens to be the 13th Birthday for Indie Vision Music! It’s incredible to think that such a simple site has been able to withstand all the turbulence of a shaky music industry, changing political climates, wars, terrorist attacks, economic issues, and all the other noteworthy happenings of the past 13 years. Through it all one thing remains clear and …continue reading …
[Update: Album Cover can be found below. Designed by Miika Korpi (Aatospaja Web Design)] It’s that time again friends, time for a new free compilation. I have created an event page on Facebook to learn more about Punk Never Dies Vol. 2 and submit songs. If you want to cut to the chase, basically it’s a FREE punk rock compilation scheduled to be released for FREE via our website on September 1st. You can submit your songs via this email address only. I received a google alert yesterday about something Indie Vision Music related and realized it was our very own Wikipedia page! I have no idea who or what created this but I should say thank you. A few things might be incorrect but for the most part, it rings pretty true. I’m not sure how long it’ll remain up since it says some references/links are needed to maintain relevancy. For now, click here to check it out …continue reading …

Happy 10 year anniversary to the Dismissed “Taking the Good With the Bad Album”, released in March of 2003 on Indie Vision Music. Not too many people know who this band was but they held a special place in my heart. I once saw them open up for Fall Out Boy to a venue of maybe 100 people max in 2003. It’s funny when you think of where one band went and the direction of the other band. I’ve learned a lot in 10 years but I still look back with fondness on those Dismissed guys and their music. RIP Dismissed. If you want to download Dismissed “The Complete Collection” click here or Kings to You “The Antidote” (name change after Dismissed) click here. Read more of my story, below. …continue reading

[Update: Podcasts have been added as downloads via IVM, below] Greetings friends and readers. I have now finished producing Episode 2 of our weekly podcast series. Future editions will appear on the website weekly. Remember, you can “Download” the podcast exclusively through Soundcloud now for a limited time. Once we max out our allotted downloads, I’ll put it on IVM for free download. Take care and thanks for listening. …continue reading

Hey all, how are you on this fine Wednesday? Hopefully you’re all doing well and staying out of the cold. So let’s get this started. It’s been previously reported that we intend to do some big things this year in relation to site re-design and features implementation. We fully plan to do some things but first we wanted to come to you and ask what you’d like to see us change, feature, or implement in the new IVM website? We …continue reading …
Greetings to you all and a very happy new year. I am sorry for my absence and lack of updates here on IVM the past few weeks. During this time of year it’s always pretty crazy around the jones house with all the holiday preparations and what not. I usually take a break around Christmas and New Years just to relax and detach from the Internet. Now that we are in 2013, we would like to start getting to work …continue reading …
Instead of trying to come up with new Artist of the Week and Featured Release spots for the month of December, the final month of the year, I thought i’d come to you our readers for advice on just who to feature. I was thinking of mixing it up with some great “Christmas” albums from artists we write about or maybe some albums we missed during the year that deserve the “Featured” treatment here at IVM. Sound off in the …continue reading …
I put up a new poll for fun. I just selected a random bunch of bands who have releases planned for 2013 (or rumored) and put them up for voting. You can select up to “6” from the choices available. If you see an album missing, you can always discuss it here and vote for “other”. I couldn’t remember every band out there with a release so I did my best just to select some that I knew. Thanks!
Don’t forget, we have our brand new hoodies available for pre-order right here. They are available in Gray and Black, sizes Small-XXL and only $20ea. All orders will ship the first week of December. Please support us and Benaiah Clothing by purchasing one of these cozy hoodies. Buy one for your friend, your family, heck even Grandma or Grandpa would love one! Thanks everyone.
I am doing a special “Where Do You Get Your Music” Poll just to gauge the public’s (readers) recent opinions regarding where they get their music from. You can vote anonymously, just be honest. Feel free to come back here to this post and discuss where you get your music these days. With the fast pace of technology, some people might not even “buy” music anymore but rather stream it from an online source/radio station. Let us know what you …continue reading …

[Update: I uploaded a better mockup image below] That’s right friends, I have decided to move forward with the new design and print it on a black pull over or as Phil Metalhed would say, “old generic+ ovadun blak”. Most people, including myself, prefer Black hoodies so this time around that’s what we went with. Gotta sell them right? The fine people at Benaiah Clothing will be selling this merch for us again on their website. Pre-orders go live beginning Sunday! All orders will ship December 4th. We definitely plan more designs/merch in 2013 so stay tuned. You can take a peek at the hoodie, below. We hope to sell these for $20ea!! Insane! So those of you who love IVM and what we stand for, please consider buying one of these hoodies. It’s great promotion for us and helps our friends at Benaiah Clothing. Thank you. …continue reading
The Votes are in, Barack Obama has been re-elected as President of the United States of America. Whether you love him or hate him, let’s put all that behind us and focus on our Faith and Love for one another. I am personally glad to finally have breathing room when watching TV without being force fed all these different political commercials and ads. It’s over and now the next 4 years begin (to go downhill, lol).
2012 has been a tremendou …continue reading …

[Update: New Poll regarding which color Long Sleeve or Hoodie has been posted on main page of this site. Please vote and let us know what color you’d most want to wear. Thanks] Benaiah Clothing were kind enough to design us this idea for a new merch item. We are thinking it’ll either be a long sleeve or pull over hoodie. Please sound off in the comments with your thoughts and which merch item you would prefer to purchase. (We can also remove the little “eye” logo from the bottom left side if everyone wants us to do that). …continue reading
[Update: Post updated today to allow for all your “new” readers/fans of IVM to get your comment pic shown (Gravatar)] Do you want to have your own image instead of the default IVM image to show with your comments? Well, it’s easy and here is how you do it: Go to www.gravatar.com and click on the button that says “Get your Gravatar today >>” and just follow the instructions. Make sure that you use the same e-mail address as you use here at Indie Vision Music and your image will work on our site.
