Wisdom and Wages (Becoming The Archetype, Death Therapy, The Reversalist, Solamors) Drops Prog-Metal Christmas Music That Rules

Wisdom and Wages which is the new project from Jason Wisdom who is quite the musician and prolific songwriter, are releasing new music which includes and instrumental “Christmas” EP. Check out two songs, below. More to come from this project in 2022. Love this progressive metal Christmas music and it’s what we need right now. Can I get a righteous headbang of a yes?… Continued →

Best of 2020: Noah Hardwick (Part II)

Some would say that putting together a year-end list of your top 100 albums and EPs is insane. And I agree. It’s one of the most ambitious things I’ve attempted since I started writing for IVM. So how did I do it exactly? Well I started out by putting together a list of all the albums and EPs I listened to during 2020—a feat in its own right. When I was done I had a list of about 300 releases which I then set out to rate on a scale of 1 to 10.… Continued →

Death Therapy Covers Living Sacrifice "Reject" (feat. Brook Reeves)

Jason Wisdom has a real talent for putting out really great music, whether it be in Becoming the Archetype, Death Therapy, The Reversalist, among others. This past week Death Therapy teamed up with Impending Doom frontman, Brook Reeves to deliver a cover of “Reject” by Living Sacrifice. The song has a real industrial metal feel to it that works really well. It’s a great cover, sure to please. Check it out HERE or below and let us know how you’re liking this.… Continued →

The Reversalist - The Anchor (New Song Out Now)

Jason Wisdom of Becoming The Archetype, Solamors, and Death Therapy has a new band called “The Reversalist“. He dropped a song back in June and is now back with another single titled “The Anchor”. If you enjoyed Jason’s various work in the past, this is going to blow you away. I would drop words like “So Good”, “Awesome”, “Rad”, “Amazing”, but that still doesn’t do this release enough justice. Give “The Anchor” a listen below and pick up wherever you buy fine digital music.… Continued →

Give a listen to the ones you are unfamiliar with, you never know, maybe you’ll find something new to listen to!   1.    Slipknot – We Are Not Your Kind. REVIEW : Death Therapy - "Voices"

Death Therapy appeared on the scene for many with their debut album, “The Storm Before the Calm”, in early 2017. An album that just dripped of a mix of industrial and metal, it was met with a positive response from both fans and critics alike. It elicited such a positive response in fact, that even at the time, it was hard to ignore that it set a pretty high bar for whatever might come next. Fast forward to March 2019, just a little over two years later, and we’re about to find out how the new album, “Voices”, one of the more anticipated releases of 2019, stacks up.… Continued →

Death Therapy Drops Two Insane New Singles

Death Therapy are gearing up to release their follow up (2nd) full length on Solid State Records titled “Voices” which will drop on April 12th. Check out the insanely good new single “Feels Like Fiction” (feat Garrett Russell of Silent Planet) and the song “My Defiance”, below. These two songs showcase a group on the verge of explosive success through their prog leaning metal whatever-you want-to-call-it, music. This is a definite leap over the previous full length (which is tough to do because it was nearly perfect) and further proof of Jason Wisdom’s (and band-mates) songwriting prowess.… Continued →

New Death Therapy song, "My Defiance"

Many of us have been eagerly awaiting something new from Death Therapy, and today is the day! The new track, “My Defiance” is available now on all digital platforms (click HERE). The track contains many elements common to the previous album, “The Storm Before the Calm”, however this song is notably heavier than anything on that album, in my opinion. The song features crushing, heavy guitars, guttural screams, and some rather melodic choruses. The song also features a guest spot by Josh Kincheloe of Glasslands and he sounds great on this.… Continued →

Most Anticipated Releases of 2019: Rob Jensen

So, 2018 is behind us, another year on the books. After having put together a list of my favorite releases for the year, I decided to try going in the opposite direction and form a list of the albums I’m anticipating most in the coming year. Now, a bit of a heads up before we dig in; I am almost certainly missing some albums here. Some may have escaped my attention, and I’m sure there are more to be announced yet as well. All mentioned below I’m sure are coming this year, but a specific date has yet to be given.… Continued →

Best of 2017: Rob Jensen

2017 was a pretty decent year for music! Between finding newer bands, the resurgence of others from years of inaction, and great albums from bands we’ve come to love and depend on for great music, it was pretty tough to be disappointed. Below, are the 20 albums that I consider to be the year’s best. If there are bands there you haven’t heard of, I hope you check them out, you never know…maybe one of them would’ve made your top spot. And please, drop a line in the comments and let me know your thoughts!… Continued →

Death Therapy - Wake Me (When I'm Dead)

Death Therapy’s new album dropped about a week and a half ago and they have already released their first music video. The song “Wake Me (When I’m Dead)” brings out some goth rock and groove metal all over the track. The song is short but sweet, but still brings the intensity. Ladies and Gentlemen, I present Death Therapy’s video for “Wake Me (When I’m Dead)”. Enjoy! Continued →

Death Therapy tease release date

The newly signed Death Therapy has teased the release date for the debut album. Death Therapy started in 2015 as the vision of former Becoming the Archetype vocalist/bassist Jason Wisdom. Death Therapy Signs to Solid State Records

The Industrial/Groove metal band that is Death Therapy has just signed to Solid State Records and has released a new, or rather a re-done track, titled “The Lie”. Death Therapy is the solo project of Jason Wisdom of Becoming the Archetype and Solamors fame. Wisdom left BTA in 2011 and went on to do Solamors in 2013 with ex-BTA/Aletheian Guitarist Alex Kenis and ex-Aletheian Drummer Travis Turner. Turner now hosts a podcast, on which Wisdom has been a guest on twice. The most recent episode, he announced that had signed to Solid State Records, which is now being announced by Solid State.… Continued →

5 Up and Coming Christian Metal Bands

Today, I’m doing something a little different. These bands are bands that people should know and that are on the rise. Check them out! And here you go! 5. Saints Can Lie Metalcore acts have become very common in the United States. But Saints Can Lie seem to be doing something sort of fresh. The band formed in 2012 with the original lineup of brothers Vocalist Jake and Guitarist/Pianist Hunter Shaw, Guitarist John McDonough and Drummer Bryce Garland. The band comes from Texas, home to many amazing metal bands including Pantera and The Famine.… Continued →
