After a long year of releasing multiple EPs and a hard copy of The End Is Not The End, House of Heroes gives the fans just a bit more music to end the year. This time around, it’s a nicely crafted Christmas EP. Just like the other two EPs released this year, this one consists of three tracks, all ranging in a style somewhat. However, the all contain the HoH touch that we all love.

The opener, “All I Want For Christmas Is You”, seems like a very fitting song for HoH to cover. Originally a hit classic by Mariah Carey, HoH takes their  “Beatles” sounding pop/rock and turns the song into a, as the EP’s title suggests, “A Christmas Classic”. The much more toned down, acoustic track “Silent Night” doesn’t seem to take away from the momentum of the opener. The much more toned down feel is nice for House of Heroes and comes out as a success.

The closer, “O Come O Come Emmanuel”, which seems to come a bit too quick, contains the HoH rock feel. It starts off with just a guitar but then breaks into more of a rocker. The song ends eventually with a great solo that closes the EP well.

Overall:

HoH ends their busy year with a great Christmas EP. From the more pop/rock opener to the more rock – flavored ending, the EP seems far too short. It leaves the listener craving more and would sure be nice if a full- length were to release sometime! This truly is a “Christmas classic”!
