1.Every Time I Die – Low Teens
Being a long time ETID fan, this is the album I have been dreaming for since the beginning. Flawless, technical, aggressive, and unrelentingly honest, this is the best ETID album ever released.

2.Thrice – To Be Everywhere is to Be Nowhere
After their hiatus, Thrice could have released anything and their loyal fans would have eaten it up – me included. However, the band came back with force and released the best rock album of the year.

3.Bayside – Vacancy
Bayside Vacancy Album CoverI love Bayside. Period. What’s more, on Vacancy, Bayside show they can create the duality of happy sounding music to some of the most sad lyrics.

Great list Brody! Thrice was my #1 in what I thought was a really good year for music.

And wowzers! Even aside from albums I knew about & haven’t checked out yet, there are a slew of releases I didn’t even know came out by bands I enjoy, like new Relient K, Jimmy eat world, Bon Iver. Stoked that RK & JEW both put good releases after a few ‘spotty ones – will have to check em.

Glad you could find some stuff you had missed out on earlier! Let me know what you think of those releases.

I probably need to spend more time with Low Teens and Nobody Likes A Quitter. I enjoyed both of them, but maybe it’s just because there were so many good records last year that I didn’t spin them enough.

Agreed man. It was hard to find time to listen to some releases this year. Showbread, for instance, is one of my favorite bands of all time and I just couldn’t find enough time to listen to their new one enough to add it to my list.
