(A party of one, me myself and I). Ha. Well, this company is run/owned/created by Brandon Jones. Including all reviews, site updating, pricing, product ordering, web store creation, band scouting, band signings, record releasing, etc. Man, I'm tired...ha....I started this company with a vision, a vision of difference from what everyone else was already doing. It is with that energy that I continue to run the site/store/label myself , cutting overhead costs and allowing for complete freedom in how it is I choose to run Indie Vision Music. Of course, I have the support and loving guidance of my wife that encourages me in doing Indie Vision Music every day. We are completely DIY, from the ground up.

*Hint: When the expression "we" pops up frequently in the latter document, it is my way of referring to the wife and I. Or I guess you could assume "me, myself, and I" as a direct reference to "we"? I think....

Ø       Introductions….
Ha ha, wow, how much do you hate those titles? "Company founder and CEO?" This is music, remember? Anyway.... So this is the part of the profile where I talk about our vision, the profile and a reason for why I started Indie Vision. There are so many different reasons for starting this site and it's not always easy to express….so here it goes:

Ø       Beginnings….
Indie Vision Music began in Feb. 2000 with a spark of imagination culminating on years spent involved in and as a witness to the indie music realm. I had a passion and a burning desire to do something different in the indie scene, and provide an alternative to what was already provided at the time. I sought out to create a site the best I could with the options of actual music samples, and a secure server that allowed us to exist as an official “Indie Vision Music” store. We launched the site in July 2000 with a dream and a simple premise of providing independent Music from a Christian perspective. The beginnings were a little rough as is the case with most new companies. I created and ran the site completely on my own and early designs clearly reflect that (those of you still remember). Over time I bought every book I could on design and tried my best to implement it while having to compliment the shopping cart that allowed for the orders to pass through. After a while it became routine and the “learning curve” wore off. I started adding “reviews” slowly over time as well as different web elements. We are now in 2003, and I am still learning new techniques and methods for web design. I have always desired our site to be just a simple storefront that allows the customer to do two things: Listen to music and BUY! We wanted a quick loading easy to use Store that avoids the pitfalls of slow loading graphics. We have been lucky enough to meet up with a great web design company by the name of Watching Red run by David Mcdonald that helped us transform the Indie Vision site into a split level web presence. We not only offer the web zine but we also offer a full functional web store. I guess that’s a killer 2 for 1 deal wouldn’t you say? David designs the Indie Vision Zine while I, Brandon, design the webstore maintaining and adding products sometimes daily.

Ø      Our Premise:
The premise behind why it is we do what we do, is simple. We lend promotion to and “expose” bands under the radar. Our focus is on Christian Music which receives little to no promotion (nor exposure) in various traditional retail formats and online for that matter. Our site/store was to be a place that provided multiple Record Labels all under one roof. There was no longer a need to read through a mailorder mag. and send in your check only to wait 2 months for your package to arrive. The internet was a quick, painless, and speedy alternative to the manual ways of the past. Thus the alternative..... With the internet, there is a safe haven where you can browse and shop from the privacy of your own homes. A place that exists in your mind much the way a traditional brick and mortar outfit would -except your physical self doesn't have to march out the front door or start the car engine. You can shop, browse, listen all from the comfort of your own homes and offices. Sure, we weren't the first "online" music store by any stretch, but I feel we were and are the first to do it exactly the way it is run now. A niche not challenged nor presented in the correct light. We do what we do with the freedom of mind to operate on our own terms…….

Ø      Reasons Why…
We seek to provide a truly independent view point and a venue where we (IVM) make up our own minds of how a company is run. Our original tagline of "Independent Music, Independent Prices, Independent Vision" couldn't be more applicable than it is today. Independence in my mind is just that, doing things independently. Our prices are some of the most competitive around. They stay at that level because we know it’s not easy to cough up $17 for a single piece of plastic and paper. Mailorder music was always cheaper than your local bookstore/music shop. We wanted to take that same approach of mailorder in an online format while carrying not just one label, but a variety all under one name.

Statistics Lie…

Ø       Business models, formulas, statistics---throw them out the window. It is a new day and age, and we do not intend to run a business with archaic methods of the past. There is no stamped and proven method or graph for running a site such as this :) Our purpose, goal, and overall reason for running this site is to encourage love in relationships, actions, and the way we conduct ourselves. To share God on a personal level and through our service to others. Yeah sure it's just a music site, but in some small way it is my hope that we are making a difference.............

In conclusion,
Indie Vision Music exists as a community for the musically unaware and those that lack convenient access to a music shop. We are all about alternatives—alternatives to popular music, alternatives to popular thought, and alternatives to the way a company conducts themselves. We are a thought, we are a new generation. We have our heart and soul on the pulse of Music.
