What do you all think of this song?
I like Self Starter better, but this is still really good.
Self Starter was definitely better
Agreed.
I think this song absolutely kills! At first I wasn’t sure which song I liked better between this one and Self-Starter, but after listening to this one a bunch of times along with Self-Starter, I think it’s definitely better than Self-Starter. Both of the songs are some of their best work. The drum work is yet again insane on this song.
Here’s to hoping that this album will top Cities!
Still coming off the high of “Self-Starter”, but this is still a great song and definitely a good choice for a single! I hope the rest of the record is a bit different though. Two or three songs like this is great, but a whole album of this might be iffy. Still have no doubt it will deliver! :)
I think this album is going to be fantastic! I already like it better than both the single from Dark is the Way (Invincible) and New Surrender (the not as good redone version of Feel Good Drag)
Not to nitpick, but the single was “Impossible” which is slightly less cliche than “Invincible”. ;)
Impossible is one of my favorite Anberlin songs, but mostly because of the lyrics
I like the new songs, very upbeat. Could be the best Anberlin yet, we shall see.
These new songs definitely sound like Anberlin and that’s a good thing. I am looking forward to this new album.
I like Self-Starter better.
wow look another song better than almost everything they’ve done besides Cities… this bodes well.
Aaron Sprinkle…Enuff said!
I agree. He is making the difference on this record.
Yes! This is the Anberlin I fell in love with in High School, Glad to see they can still rock!
I liked Self-Starter better but still good. This song sorta reminds me of Hello Alone a bit. Maybe im just imagining things….
I think the melody of the chorus is what reminds you of Hello Alone. I had the same thought.
The “Someone Someone” at the first part of the chorus and the “Anyone Anyone” in the second part sort of mirrors the chorus of “Hello Alone” in a way. The songs sound nothing alike, but I thought of it too. :)
Track listing is up now:

boy that last track better be phenomenal to sport that ambitious of a name. I wish they’d post track lengths too…
Last track is 6 minutes 15 seconds long according to Drew from AP.net. :) So it looks like it’ll at least be epic!
I don’t get why a bunch of people think the title is so weird. TCC did something very similar with “God and Drugs,” though I don’t know if Anberlin can compete with that ;).
or Showbread: “Sex With Strangers”
I love “God and Drugs”, but as an Anberlin closing track “God, Sex & Drugs” just hits me like an epic ambitious closer chalked full of deep meaning. But it is just a title. :)
John Reuben: Sex, Drugs, and Self-Control
This song rules. :)
sounds like the good anberlin we’ve all known
I love both songs. I like Self-Starter a bit more, but the “scream” part in Someone Anyone is absolutely incredible.
