This record is fantastic! Honestly, Chris sounds quite a bit like Jason, so the vocals aren’t gonna be too bad of a change for all of you. I’m digging the artwork; my only beef with it is that it looks too similar to TDWP’s Dead Throne, but I love how they finally incorporated Clifton Beardskull. I kinda wish they had kept the original logo, but this IS a new era for the band, so maybe that’s the reason why they changed it. I believe there’s an album preview video on YouTube with 30 second clips of every song for anyone who’s interested. At least I thought I saw that somewhere the other day.

I really like the new type, I think they should change that up at least due to the big member change. Still love the album art, but now that you mention it, it does look like the Dead Throne art.

They had the same logo/lettering on Celestial Completion.
They actually used Clifton for the artwork on the Necrotizing Fasciitis single, which is way heavier than anything on I Am that I’ve heard so far. Get it off iTunes, it’s awesome.

Wow. That is one of the coolest looking tracklistings I’ve ever seen.
The tracklisting reminds me of For Today’s Portraits in that it has a definite theme and consistency. As for BTA, I always thought Terminate Damnation would by my favorite but this holds promise indeed.

I was a bit skeptical that I’d like this album even though BTA has always been a favorite, but I have been proved wrong and am loving what I am hearing!

Which album are you referring to out Phil, just out of curiosity? The only one I can think of was “As the World Bleeds” by Theocracy, but the track titled “I Am” was the first track on that one. And the only problem that I can think of with that one was that it took them like a zillion months to get the thing released.

You are correct, Loren. I am the original member left. Although Daniel has now been on 2 albums, which is as many as any of our other lead guitarists.

Nah. I wouldn’t even say technically. In my opinion, the Remnant is a different band than BTA. Terminate Damnation had a wholly different sound than the Remnant.

Besides, my point was mor of the “thers no original membas left n yal r stil usin the original band name” line of thinkin, such as zao, underoath, hopesfal, etc. I was neva realy confortable wit bands doin that, but i guess i can c the reasons behind wantin 2 keep the original name also.
If you go with this reasoning… then half the bands we listen to that are signed have no original members. There are so many bands that start as something, then get signed, change their name, add/remove members, change sound, etc.

Maybe 10- 20% of the bands left that dont hav any original membas left hav kept the original band name, the othas change band names.
You’d be surprised, especially considering how many members change when they’re just a local band.

Lastest was more than just the vocalist. It was the addition of a bassist and replacement drummer as well.
Seth is the only member on every album.

That clip was very good, but still a little too heavy for my tastes. Never appreciated a band so much that I didn’t necessarily enjoy though. (if that even makes sense) Regardless I’m still holding out hope that I’ll get into the full album.

Seth, on the last album that every song title started with “The,” there were alternate titles for the songs (Dichotomy). Are there alternate titles for the songs on this album? Super excited to hear it.
