Glad to see that both Chris and Brandon are all over the new song!
Haha maybe I should delete mine. I was here first though!
This is sooo good…another great song. Can’t wait for this album!!
Catchy. Not my favorite lyrics though.
good song! i can dig it
This song is really great musically. His voice has never sounded better. I’d really like to know what the lyrics are all about though.
I’m just going to go ahead and award SbR my album of the year award for 2012 right now.
How does it sound Jonathan? I can’t hear right now.
Awesome!
HA! OK, Jonathan. Thanks. I’ll take your word for it. I’ll listen when I get home.
Good to know that they still have the stuff that was cool about their first album, including the post-hardcore vibe. So few Tooth & Nail debuters have been putting out second albums lately, this might be worth a look.
And as far as the lyrics, I would guess it’s something about a crisis of faith, like a person saying “How could You let this happen? I put my trust in You!” and then realizing “Oh, I’ve been misplacing my trust and giving it to man and material things.” The liar part might be “Somebody lied when they told me God would protect me” and then being told that he’s getting into philosophical territory he’s not equipped to understand – “playing with fire” in a sense. That’s just my interpretation.
