i really want to like this……. but i just cant
This music is absolutely terrible. And this is coming from someone who likes everything else that Josh Dies and Showbread have ever released. :P
um…….what is this it’s sooo odd it’s like he got bored, decided to put random synths together and made an album.
I actually really like the sound of the tracks I’ve heard. But then again I also like Joy Electric… There’s also more than a touch of industrial which I’m totally cool with. Slightly reminiscent of Massivivid’s ‘Brightblur’ album. If you really dig this style of music and want to go way back to the roots for a reference check out 80′s Christian new-wave/synth-pop artists Crumbacher and Mad At The World (first two albums). Or if you’re really adventurous and want to go even further back in time check out The classic Jimmy Hottz album ‘Beyond The Crystal Sea’. Though it’s more of a progressive art-rock project it is absolutely drenched in phenomenal synths.
I don’t think this is terrible. I haven’t heard the old stuff, but I hear a lot of the new Showbread sound influence. The song available from the link I enjoyed.
Not what I was expecting!
Is anything from Josh Dies ever what people expect?
Good point! It’s an intriguing listen.
