Glad to see coverage about this band again. Glad to see they have left T&N. Glad to see they are making a new album. Intrigued to see what the musical direction and lyrical content will be like.

I just hope it’s not like their last album. It was a dud to me.

    • I agree but we all know that isn’t going to happen. Their last album reflected where they were as a band and I don’t think we’ll be seeing a return to Catch for Us the Foxes era anytime soon. That’s a shame too since that’s one of the greatest albums ever.

    • evan144 says:

I actually have heard elements of this new album, and it feels like a nice medium between Brother, Sister and Its all Crazy… It is more on the B,S side, just not as vocally nuts! I wish it would be ALL on the B,S side, even though I loved “It’s all Crazy…” Brother, Sister is just in my top 5 favorite albums of all time.

    • Tim says:

The two songs they have played live had more spoken word/shouted vocals than the last album, that’s for sure.

    • evan144 says:

      True that Tim!

  6. Mike says:

Glad to see coverage about mwY again! One of the most important bands in the genre! This record should be right next to thrice for album of the year

so why did they stop getting covered here? album will rule obviously as all of their albums do.

    • Intrestin. And ya, i also wana know y u “refrained from doing so” brandog, lol.

    • Phil says:

Yeah, a site called indievisionmusic not covering a band like mewithoutYou sounds like an oxymoron…

    • Tim says:

Because there were lots of theological debates resulting from trying to decipher Aaron Weiss’ beliefs. They just went round in circles and were not really that edifying…

    • Tim says:

It seems to me that this is a renewed opportunity to show ourselves as loving.

    • evan144 says:

Weiss’ theology is very universalistic (in the Western Religion sense). I believe he is Jewish (or Christian) but he has knowledge, a vast knowledge, in the 3 Western Religions. He is a very modern thinker and really gels with what I like, while still regarding God as most high!

    • Eko says:

okay we can let it go I think. he certainly isn’t your typical Christian. Or Muslim, or whatever he is.

    • Eko says:

let the issue of them being covered on the site go, I meant.

    • Lucas says:

If I am correct (and I may very well not be) Aaron’s follows Christ but takes a lot of influence from his Jewish and Sufi-Islamic background. He simply prefers not to talk about his religion in interviews. This was at least his status less than a year ago.

    • evan144 says:

Lucas, true! My comment I guess got deleted, but I said basically that same thing! It’s a very modern way of thinking, and I feel he is truly trying to find “peace” in all 3 of the Western Religions. Regardless of your set beliefs, more so your set dogma’s, we should all be trying to do this NOT to unite religions, but to create peace and understanding! This is really the best way to end war (in a religious violence sense!)

    • Brandon says:

Haha Evan, your comment didn’t get deleted on purpose dang it. lol. I was using my wordpress app on the iPhone and picked the phone up weird, dragging my finger across your comment somehow deleting it (in the app you just drag your finger to the right to delete a comment). It was still in the “trash” on the system so I just went over to my PC right now and have “restored” it. Sorry about that. I would never intentionally delete someone’s comment unless it was filled with vulgar profanity or derogatory sexual content or something. Unfortunately I can’t access the trash bin on my phone that’s why it wasn’t done sooner. sorry about that.

    • evan144 says:

HAHA all good Brandon! Totally understand! I didn’t take offense to it at all :) I starting thinking that I may not had press post!

  8. Lucas says:

Most anticipated album of 2012. So I guess I can publicly post the live audio recording of “January 1878″? :)

I guess I’ll have to check this out, but I am hoping their musical style varies widely from their earlier works. It’s getting to be “been there, done that” IMO.

I don’t consider Aaron Weiss a Christian but mwY is still one of my favorite bands and I hope this album is more along the lines of B,S or Catch the Little Foxes.

Actually John Wayne your right, mewithoutyou’s best album I am sorry to say is a-b hands down. I wish they would go more towards that style instead of there last album which was horrible by the way I give that album like a 1 out of 5 it was just plain awful.

“If you liked us pre It’s All Crazy, you will probably really really like this record. If you got into us because of It’s All Crazy, you will probably dig this record. If you are holding your breath waiting for A to B life part two, I can’t help you there. That was almost eleven years ago, holy s, but yeah, maybe a few fills and hinting guitar tones but not in that realm in the slightest.” – Rick

  17. Evan says:

i love everything mwY has ever created, but Catch For Us The Foxes will probably always be my ultimate favorite, simply because it was the first record of theirs i listened to and it has my all-time favorite song of theirs on it – January 1979. but we’ll see…maybe this new record will win in the long run. considering that Aaron is once again doing spoken-word vocals, things look very promising…

  18. Stephen says:

Yeah Tim the spoken word style is really why I got into mewithoutYou in the first place, but I did like It’s All Crazy… because it showed a different side of the band and that Aaron can actually sing.
I’m never worried about what this band puts out, it’s always going to blow my mind.

Most anticipated album of the year along with Anberlin and House of Heroes. All the live videos I’ve heard sound amazing. So far it seems like a natural progression from “It’s All Crazy!” and I’m SO glad the spoken/shouted vocals are coming back! And of course I’m really interested to see what the lyrical content is like. :)
Also, not to mention two formally covered artists in one post, but what does everyone think of Hayley Williams doing guest vocals on “Fox’s Dream” and the b-side “All Circles”? Anyone heard about that? I can’t imagine how that is going to sound.

    • Brandon says:

I have listened to the whole album and it sounds interesting. I have never been a big fan of the band but I can tolerate this new musical outing. I think fans are going to love it. It sounds like a natural progression from the last album but also a good mix of sounds from all three of their last albums.

  22. Really? Haley Williams on the new album? That’s really cool!! Not that I’m a biggest fan of Paramore. But a couple years back, Alternative Press did a special section in an issue called “Bands That Changed My Life.” Jade Puget of AFI cited Jawbreaker, Tim McIlrath reminisced Fugazi, and so forth. ….And Haley Williams’s band that changed her life was Mewithoutyou. “I credit their album [A-->B] Life for encouraging me, in my early teens, to think more deeply about the faith that I’ve chosen,” she said in the article, and recommended readers to listen to “Bullet to Binary.” There’s also been photos of her and Aaron Weiss hanging out on Warped Tour years ago. Also, numerous twitter quotes from her about them being her favourite band.

All that to say : this is so cool because it will certainly be a dream come true for her. Like a seriously big deal.

I was actually excited for her when I saw that. I remember being so surprised when I read how much she loves mewithoutYou. Really psyched to hear where she fits in on the album. Still a pretty big fan of Paramore.

  23. Really really stoked for this album! Still waiting for pre-orders :)
