My Epic have also released a new album this week on Facedown Records titled “Broken Voice”, which is an acoustic based exploration of sound. You can find this album wherever fine music is sold.
The soundtrack of a hopeful youth shimmers inside the unassuming three piece that is My Epic. Deliberately penning lyrics to subvert all basic human nature, My Epic have become the unforeseen antidote to apathy with song after song evoking raw emotion wrapped in a palpable tenderness. Soaring refrains and dynamic vocals breeze in and out of carefully sculpted songs with alternated softness and exu…berance. The often heart rending melodies roll and rush around vocals that threaten to sweep you off your feet. Lyrically stunning, vital and rebellious in the most captivating way, My Epic has staked their claim on Beauty as certainly as they have taken their stand against the unremarkable. When inspiration comes from beauty the result is anything but ordinary, and for My Epic the results are unforgettable

  2. Agreed. Fantastic album, which I call it an album because it’s about as long as one at 32 minutes and has 8 songs. ‘Alone’, ‘Deathbed’, and ‘Lazarus’ are incredible. So is ‘Childbodybride’. This band keeps moving up my favorite bands list to where they are in my top 5. Still have to see them live but I know I’ll melt when I do.

Also, I’ve yet to hear a band that has lyrics as good as theirs. They’re the most spiritually honest lyrics I’ve ever heard and so poetic.

Hey Michael, why don’t you come out writer’s “retirement” and a write a review of this for us? ;)

    • I’m not sure I would’ve done too well anyhow since I would’ve just be a blabbering mess with this band all ‘teen school girl’ style. :-P

Now Switchfoot I’d consider coming out of ‘retirement’ for since that project I did 2 years ago was like my ‘baby’, ha.

This might be the best “EP” ever.

Facedown has put out 2 epic cd’s on the same day with this and Hands.

Love this album. They know how to craft beautiful songs, with lyrics that are worshipful in a unconventional way. So good.

Yeah, beautiful is definitely the word I always use to describe what My Epic puts out. I was really excited to get Broken Voice yesterday and it does not disappoint.
