Kinda saw it coming. It was weird they semi- broke-up. Then re-grouped and made an e.p. Then the lyrics on the e.p. were different then their old stuff.
Didn’t realize they were Christian though.

@Jake D yeah they’re not christian, they ever explained that even though they play something smooth and the lyrics conflict on God and all that, that doesn’t they’re christian,

i hope they don’t. t&n seem to sign flash in the pan bands.

that would be the worst thing ever. they need to be on equal vision or a very similar label. evan’s right on that one.

t&n is failing miserably as label. not to mention they have a hard enough time marketing the bands they have now. I have no doubt they’d do just as poorly with Oceana.

Whew, this is really interesting. I can see them on like Equal Vision or something. Cannot wait to hear whats up next for this band!!!

As Brandon said, an interview is on the way, and I’m the one doing it. Is there anything special you all want me to ask them?

What motivated the band to change musical styles?

I think they should have changed their name when they re-grouped and changed styles. I think they’ve been off Rise for a bit but just announced it. Daniel Davison manages them so im sure good stuff will happen.

I recently had them play while they were on tour with My Epic and i personally love the direction they decided to go the ep was pretty good looking forward to hearing more in the near future. I asked them why they chose the change and they said that they were tired of writing to please the crowd and kids with riffs and breakdowns and that they wanted to go with what there passionate for….. i personally im a bigger fan of them now then before the scene is over done with to many bands coping each other and not having any real passion behind there music. theres a video of members of my band (mercy Screams), Oceana and My Epic jamming out on there last song of there set check it out http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K59fOd736gg

For the record, Tooth & Nail has a signing which will be announced soon which is their best in a long, long time. It will hopefully be the beginning of their road back to legitimacy.

As for Oceana, clean head shows insane amounts of potential. I can’t wait to hear what’s next. Denny is one of the best drummers I’ve seen/heard in an incredibly long time. One of my favorites for sure. My only slightly negative thing to say is that for the love of everything musical I hope you can understand Brennan’s lyrics (that is, understand what he is saying just by listening) on the next release.

Also…anyone have any recommendations for bands similar to Oceana’s new direction? Or does anyone know who THEY are listening to?
(In addition to comments regarding my previous post, that is)
