That will be a pretty awesome tour.

no care unless there is an orlando date :)

    Pure Awesomeness…

  • Joe says:

man I hope the boys in The Almost bring the message because Switchfoot won’t! We saw Switchfoot at cornerstone and the boys didn’t mention Jesus or God one time. Not once. And this was a christian festival supposedly! Jon Foreman did say that Music has helped him through many tough times and Music has helped him make friends and … but God? Not even a point skyward. I was very disappointed. Tremendous opportunity missed! I hope The Almost brings it!

most bands don’t preach from the stage…switchfoot preaches with their lyrics…

    • jordan says:

Preaching from the stage has never been the way the Switchfoot has handled their outreach. Like Chris said, they let their lyrics speak for them.

    • Brandon says:

Why was a “tremendous opportunity” missed because the band didnt “Preach” to a group of Christians at Cornerstone? Like the guys above me said, their lyrics speak for themselves. It’s not like anyone is debating whether or not they live by their Faith. I’m more disappointed in Christians that continue to slap one another for not preaching enough. It’s more upsetting when a band uses Jesus to sell more records then they end up totally living by a bad example. Anyway, end rant.

      you better take that back.

switchfoot is the defintion of love.
they believe love is the final fight.

they want people to be drawn in through their music from a non-believer spectrum,so that when they are hooked, one will pick apart their words, which are indeed about something other than living.they talk about much much more spirtual things than the almost.

so actually READ SOME SWFT LYRICS AND TELL ME THEY DONT BELIEVE.
WHEN YOU SHOVE RELIGION DOWN SOMEONES THROAT, IT WILL BACKFIRE.

people dont go to shows to be preached at.
they go to share love of music with fellow believers.

      youre so stupid.
p.s. ive seen switchfoot 4 times.and two of those times, they mentioned god.

they probably get sick of saying the same bullshit over and over to people who dont wanna hear it.

ive MET THEM A FEW TIMES TOO….they are most deff the most CENTERED and WELL ROUNDED men ive ever met.

Saw The Almost last night. They were insane, and Aaron played a Hillsong cover I’m assuming from his new solo album. It was amazing. Oh, Sleeper was the only one better than them at the fest.

    • Ian says:

Was it Mighty to Save? everyone has been covering that song lately. It is a really good song but im getting tired of hearing it. Newsboys, Jeremy camp, church services, and many other CCM people……

    • TylerM says:

It wasn’t. It was “With Everything”, one of their other popular songs. But he definitely put his (awesome) twist on it.

When Aaron was asked what his dream tour would be, he said Chris Tomlin or U2. It seems like he is really grasping onto Worship from now on.

  • Joe says:

I guess this is the same argument I see over and over about “christian band” and christians in a band. Sorry about bringing it up.BUT… If you claim to be a christian then you should live that in all you do and tell people about it. If you are saved and work at the DMV, are you sharing your faith with your co workers? Or searching for opportunities to share even with those who you help at the customer service window?? Perhaps you decide to start a web site or a band. Where ever God has placed you, you have those opportunities to share Jesus Christ. It just seems that if God has chosen you to be in front of thousands every day, you would relish the opportunity to share that. Outright. Not just in the lyrics of a song. Before I was saved I listened to a lot of christian bands songs and I wasnt sure if they were talking about God or their girlfriend! End of rant.

  • Jacob says:

I watch all of these arguments about the responsibility of Christian music artists and I’m struck with one realization: Not once have I seen either side bring up any scripture. If we are arguing about ultimate truth shouldn’t we quote the truth?

Here’s what I have to offer. I don’t mean to pick sides, only give you all something to dwell on.
James 4:12- “There is one Lawgiver, who is able to save and to destroy. Who are you to judge another?”

But back to the original news snippet; sick! The Almost and Switchfoot are two talented bands. Good examples of how raw emotion can be turned into something beautiful.

  • Ryan says:

Starting to wonder how big this tour will actually be. Aaron’s gonna be a busy guy: Doing the Monster Monster Tour in Sept with Chasen, House of Heroes, and Between the Trees and the Innocent Monster Tour in late Oct/Nov with Red, Brian Head Welch and Silverline. Only leaves a couple of weeks for a fall tour with Switchfoot.

  • Didymus says:

    post tour dates already!
