Underoath to release new Live album

Underoath will have a live recording of their London show @ the Koko (March 11th) available for purchase online & will also be available at all dates of their upcoming European tour.  For those in North America, the price with exchange rate for a digital copy is roughly $15 or $23 + shipping for a physical copy.  Album art can be seen here.

WIll this be like Survive Kaleidoscope ? Any more further info on this would be appreciated. Also, what country is Koko in?

  • Brandon says:

This will be a live recording of their show in LONDON.

  • Steve says:

Anyone besides me really dislike live albums? I think the only ones I liked were AC/DC

    • Rob J says:

Very seldom. Although for some reason live worship albums seem better than most studio worship albums. I’m talking ones recorded by churches like Hillsong or what not.

  • Brandon says:

I liked the Thrice Live Set and Five Iron Frenzy was fun but for the most part, yes, I dislike them as well.

  • tyler h says:

i like live dvd’s…live albums are generally lame…

  • Brandon says:

*especially Underoath* They’re not the greatest live band around. They sound better on a produced album. Uh oh, here come the haters!

  • Brandon says:

Yes Tyler, LIVE DVDs are cool if I ever watch them. lol.

  • JJ says:

This is rad! this band doesnt need two live dvd’s but whatever. Now i will improve my live dvd underoath collection hehe

  • sam30 says:

Seems a little over the top to release another live album…
(Yes, I’m an underOATH hater… and I wear that hat proudly… haha)

  • joe says:

Why hate on underOath? Some of you guys are a bunch of immature adults. “Hate” is a strong word. How idiotic to hate on a band just because they are releasing a 2nd live DVD. Sam30 is proud of his ignorant hate for underoath. Good job bro, and i suggest you hate on other hardcore/metalcore mainstream bands just because they are mainstream. Personally i can find NOTHING to dislike about them in terms of their appearance as a band. Actually they have done things like tour with Slipknot, but so have other christian bands. If that’s why you don’t like them and other mainstream christian bands (just a guess) then i guess you have a reason you believe in. But If your gonna dislike and have nothing to do with a band, have logical reasons, not just dislike for the sole reason that they are big.

    • sam30 says:

Please don’t get riled up, joe. I was being silly. It’s true, I don’t like uO’s music (and I make no apologies for that), but I don’t “hate” them in the sense that you’ve taken it to mean.

We often do things like this in threads.

I’m sorry if I offended you. If you like the band, that’s great. They’re really successful, and have connected with a lot of people. They’re just not for me.

  • Evan says:

I like underOath, but this is a MAJOR rip off. But I will still probably buy it cause the cover looks awesome, haha! Still why would they have such a mark up?!

  • Rob J says:

Prob gonna pass on this one, I like UO and all, but I mean even though they recorded a new album since Survive Kaleidoscope how different can it really be from that one, ya know?

  • Tim says:

I don’t like live albums. I am going to see Underoath in Leeds on Saturday. I think it’s the third night of this UK tour.

  • Dave says:

They should just put out a new studio cd.

    • Nater says:

That’s exactly what I thought to myself when i saw the title of this thread.
      *highfive*

Did anyone buy the 777 dvd?
I thought the live stuff was crap. :/

  • Charles says:

looks like soooooomebody is ready to finish their contract..

  • Yeah, maybe they are trying to finish their contract. Live albums are pretty much useless to me but Live DVD’s are where it’s at if they are filmed well and the band is actually good live. Thrice’s Live DVD was amazing and probably my favorite.

  • Nater says:

Live albums are fantastic when the band is like… Led Zeppelin. They have live recordings where they improvised and went crazy, making it even more special for the fans. They would switch things up, extend songs, jam out, change stuff.

If the band plays the songs exactly how it is on the album, live albums aren’t as cool

  • NathanRAWK says:

Another Live Album? So now we have, 777, Survive Kaleidoscope, this, and all the “special editions” we all love to pay more for. I love Underoath to death, but this just seems like another money grab.

  • Exactly Nater, that’s how I feel. That’s why I like Muse’s live album/DVD so much. I really don’t think metalcore/post-hardcore music translates very well into live albums or DVD’s. You pretty much have to be there to enjoy it and the heaviness of the music.

    • bobbythebuff says:

I sort of agree with ya there. If it is strictly a live album for a hardcore/metalcore/whatever band, then I think you need to be at the show for the real affect but if it is a DVD then I would say that you dont really need to be in attendance for the heaviness ha ha I got Between The Buried and Me’s Colors album/DVD and i havent listened to the live album once but the DVD is absolutely amazing.

  • Cody says:

I never really liked Underoath so I will definitely not be picking this up lol
