Rocky Gray (Living Sacrifice, Soul Embraced, Ex-Evanescence) along with former members of Evanescence and featuring American Idol contestant (Season 7) Carly Smithson on lead vocals, have formed the super group known as We Are the Fallen. Their debut single “Bury Me Alive” went up for download on Itunes in February. The band’s debut album “Tear the World Down” will release on May 11th. I write about this group because I’m a Rocky Gray fan and because I dug that first Evanescence record “Fallen”. You can catch the band on tour with H.I.M starting this month. So what do you think? Has anyone listened to them? I have and I like them, but this is Evanescence 2.0
Thats wat i thot as soon as i saw this, lol, lame. Im kinda disapointed that they decided 2 do a evanescence 2.0 insted of jon+ roky resurectin kilsystem or mindrage. Besides, i think they shud concentrate mor on ls+ se, lol.
Yeah I would like Rocky to focus all on LS and a little on SE. I spoke to Lance a few weeks ago at the LS tour and he isnt doing anything with SE anymore if I remember right and didnt really know what was going to happen with SE. I really liked them and would love another album.
they are totally Evanescence part 2 but I dig em’. I’m totally buying this album.
I am trying to see if we can get an interview with Rocky
They were giving out a free acoustic track of their single. I will probably buy this album as well
Hmm…I like them, but they are very much like Evanescence, and I feel unoriginal. I’m a big fan of Evanescence, though, so they’re good.
This sounds vurry inturresting. It’s sounds a little weak, but I hope it will gradually grow in awesomeness.
Dont think this band has any Christian reference except for sum members, but they suck anyway, so who cares.
Personally not too stoked about the H.I.M. tour but whatever. And this is from their Myspace: “Acclaimed bassist Marty O’Brien (Disturbed and Static-X, among others) rounds out We Are The Fallen’s unique sound.”
Nothing unique in their sound.
Oh and I don’t know how well they fit this site? Do they?
It will interesting to see how they measure to Evanescence’s new album. To me, it seems that they’re trying to fit a mold, without evolving at all. It just sounds like they’re trying to sound like Evanescence, and while they do a reasonable job, it doesn’t make it any less cliche. Copying other bands is just uncreative, and certainly not unique.
Band dudes + female singer = unremarkable radio rock or European operatic metal.
There’s so many of these kinds of bands it’s mind-boggling.
what a terrible name.
What a terrible IDEA.
