You should not be surprised. Canadian bands, such as TFK, FM Static and Hawk Nelson don’t really have talent. I mean I like some Canadian bands, but these are the worst.
Wow, how lame, lets just rip on an entire countries music scene. I think someone is having a major FAIL moment and really needs to stop talking.
Sometimes the truth really hurts. It is not my fault you have bands, such as these and mainstream bands, for instance Nickelback, Simple Plan, Our Lady Peace, Three Days Grace and the likes.
No offences, but a ton of songs sound really similar (Take the intro to Breathing by LifeHouse and the Theme to the Original BBC Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy… Almost exactly the same, yet I doubt Lifehouse was copying….) Also, even though the verses do sound alike the songs have different meanings:)
Now can we all be nice? I am so happy FM static has is taking about a new album so quickly after Dear Diary, it seemed like forever between all their other albums. WOOOT!
Why even bother posting in a section dedicated to a particular band? We get it…certain people don’t like certain bands. But why spread your negativity? I for one like FM Static. I don’t listen to them for epicness. I listen to them because they play fun music. Sometimes that’s all that matters. Away with your music snobbery.
Oh and don’t forget, EVERY band takes an influence from another band who’s already established.
Influence isn’t riff stealing. But whatever…

Lena, every band you mentioned there not only has talent, regardless of what anybody thinks about them, but also more business savvy than most.
If you want to talk about ground breaking artists let me mention a couple names here…
Neil Young, Bryan Adams, Daniel Lanois, David Foster, Rush, Leonard Cohen, Joni Mitchell.
Every one of these artists was and still is the absolute best in there genre.
If you don’t think Canadian music is good, you either have a very wrong definition of what good music is, or you don’t know what you’re talking about. Maybe both.
Please, don’t make laugh. I clearly said I like some Canadian bands. Sorry for hurting your deepest feelings guys. Now go out and cry me a river. : )

Wow this topic got off course real quick. I can’t believe some people are even debating validity of music from Canada. Yikes Lena, are you like 16 years old? Just curious. I could name a million GOOD bands from Canada. Now for the rest of you, name all your favorite Canadian bands and let’s get this list moving so we can show “Lena” what real music is all about. Whoever said RUSH was right on the money, how can we forget that band?

Lena listed most of the crappy bands from Canada. I won’t say the whole country has bad music but they have produced some pretty unoriginal bands. Plus, giving us Nickelback is an unpardonable grievance for me.
I do love me some Arcade Fire, aside from them I can’t think of any Canadian bands I enjoy. Not a huge fan of Rush, not that they’re bad but they’re just not my preferred style of classic rock.

I disagree, I think FM Static last album Dear Diary was groundbreaking in itself, while some of the riffs weren’t the most original, the lyrics and story behind the concept album were very creative and made it stand out to me. I will admit that their second album wasn’t very good, but with Dear Diary, they took the fun of What You Are Waiting For added depth and meaning to it. The I just hope they will continue this trend with this upcoming album :]
