    nice FSF reference

That’s not very original to steal your band name from another band’s song, even if it’s a great band and a great song.

  • Marty McFly says:

@MichaelMayerIII It’s from a Further Seems Forever song actually. And I don’t know what Radiohead you’ve ever heard… but I’m not hearing much here. I hear old As Cities Burn mixed with their own individuality which is totally righteous.

  • Loyd says:

@Marty McFly, Michael Mayer III’s point was that like Radiohead, this band took their name from another song. And Michael is right, there are scores of bands who have done this. I actually think it’s a cool way to pay homage to a band and move forward at the same time.

  • Isaac says:

Between the Buried and Me, Every New Day, No Wings to Speak of, and tons more of gotten their name from another band’s songs or something like that.

  • jamiecta says:

yea a lot of bands have done this and generally I think its an interesting thing to do. However, I’m not a huge fan of using an actual album title such as the case with No Wings to Speak Of. That one just feels odd to say for some reason.

My favorite examples are ones where the band names came from lyrics instead of actual titles:

Between the Buried and Me, Winds of Plague, and At The Drive In, and All Time Low for example. Also, The Appleseed Cast were originally called (December’s Tragic Drive which is a line from Sunny Day Real Estate).

But there are lots of cases similar to Blank Page Empire’s such as Scary Kids Scaring Kids, The Get Up Kids, Bury Your Dead, Death Cab For Cutie, Hit the Lights, etc.

Haste the Day also got their name from the hymn “it is well with my soul”

  • Marty McFly says:

Sorry @Michael Mayer III, I seem to have misread your comment. Many Apologies.
Moral of the story: These dudes rule, can’t wait for the EP.

  • Dan says:

I love these dudes, I played in Nihilio with them and I know they are going to take their music and God’s love far into this world.

  • Random Spectator says:
