Thanks to Fusse, our User Ratings system is now ACTIVE. Just click on any review in our system and you can now vote with your own score for what you think is best. You must be “registered” on IVM first to be able to vote. So go click on reviews right now and let your opinion be known!

My constructive criticism:
1. There should be an option to reset our score in case we make a mistake or change our opinion. I found this out by accidently rating the latest Skillet an 8 instead of a 3, haha.
2. Is there anything that can be done about multiple album reviews? Is there a way for them to share the same score?
3. I need to review more older releases so we have more to rate. :-P
1) I’ll see if the plugin allows anything like this as that is a good point.
2) I dont think there is as they are totally separate from each other.
3) Go ahead :D
I deleted your vote for that album from the database.
i dont get it…registered users?
On the top right corner of the site is login form – you can register for an account there.
Yea it still needs some work but can’t say if all you suggested is possible. I’ll see what options we have.
Ah, ok fusse, thanks for doing it. It looks great.
Would it help if you had one score that calculates the average of all users and then another one below it for the user to see his/her own score and then they have the ability to reset it? Right now both are grouped into one and when the average starts going you can’t see what you originally voted.
I’m not a registered user.
And the reason why it’s now limited for registered users is that that way we will probably a little less biased scores… Hoping… might change that after we see how it starts.
Definitely keep it that way.
1. It will encourage (in a small way) people to become registered users – I’m certainly considering it when I can be bothered!!
2. If anyone can vote it will distort the results because random people could just come along and get everyone to vote or something.
Okay, the way things work at the moment, it’s not possible to change a vote already given. Same as with the polls – so make sure you vote with care for your vote is final.
I can however, delete already cast votes so if need be I can be contacted for that.
You’ve finally convinced me to stop lurking and register. Love the new added feature.
Fusse, if you could delete my vote for Skillet – Awake I’d be grateful. That’s the only one I messed up on. :-P
Look above ;)
Yeah, I just saw that after I posted and I couldn’t edit, haha. Sometimes the site won’t let me edit my posts for some reason. It’s like it thinks I’m logged out or something.
One comment – I don’t see any icons when I go to vote. I clicked in the user rating box on The Fold’s new album and it entered my vote, but I’m not sure what I even rated it. I did find that if I hover for a few seconds the number will pop up in a yellow caption box, but I don’t see anything before that.
Thanks.
Grandmaster B, what browser are you using?
Internet Explorer 6.0 – They are now showing up! Strange, I guess I just needed to reload the site.
Mind if I recast my vote for The Fold? Many thanks in advance!
yea i guessed you were using IE 6 and looked into it and fixed it :)
but hey, please upgrade your browser to IE7 or IE8 or switch to firefox if at all possible. IE6 is so old that its not even funny – its not secure, renders websites wrong etc.
your vote on the fold should be history now.
Another thing, I noticed the average rating is in black on albums you haven’t rated but it’s a light gray for the ones you have. Can you change that light gray to red or blue? Really anything that’s easier to read would be good. :-D
yea i noticed that too. will look into it later. i gotta go to school :) its grayed because it implicates that your vote has already been cast.
Niiiiiiiice.
if I had an account I’d give the almost a -10 / 10.
so a “registered user” is different than being logged into the forums, eh?
mikal, unfortunately. there is no way to link the two.
Just to update, I’ve noticed that you’ve been the User Rating number next to the review both on the right hand column and if you are searching through Reviews by letter or year. The score alignment is messed up on reviews that have a ‘Skull’ score though and it’s off to the side. I’m in the latest version of IE btw with the compatibility thing checked.
Keep up the good work though, I’m liking how this is turning out!
thanks for the heads up. it did render properly with normal view but compatibility view messed things up. should be fine now!
Yup, that did the trick!
Wow this is looking great!! Thanks Fusse, you’re a whiz!!
