Lyrics to “The World Doesn’t Revolve Around You, It Revolves Around the Sun”:

Two from the Twelve, still thousands followed!
And he cried “Stranger, Stranger!” 1-2-3,
“I’m not the man you’re looking for.”
From the roost a song of betrayal; thorn meets brow,
It was sparked by a kiss.

When I say this I mean it, but it could never stand as truth,
This is it, this time… next time. Just watch and see.
Show me your face, give me something tangible.
Come down from there. Come down from there.

We are aiming to destroy.
Meaning without passion.
Movement without cause.

Don’t try to hide your guilty conscience,
Your smile is starting to fade and your eyes,
Are bleeding to white
(You’re loosing your integrity)

What hopes may bring,
Never settled well with me.
Thought. Action. Result.
(Contained in fright will make a bold statement)

So place your steps to the path must be pleasing to the eye.
Tucked into this silly scenery,
It’s now the stage for this world’s unscripted performance.
One moment of indecision and it’s stuck on repeat.

Don’t leave me now.
We know what doubting does to some,
But since you’re here,
We might as well chat for a while.

Keep this conversation flowing,
Keep this conversation flowing!

My justifications are transparent to these things You already know,
And this blanket covers it.

Deal with the traitors.
Two from the Twelve were revealed.
Yet the King was kind in his passing.

Forgiven.

Song Explanation:

The song is making a comparison about how two of Christ’s disciples betrayed him and how in some ways I (Tyler) am guilty of the same thing. It shows that I have given a false idea of who Jesus is and I tend to be careless in what I claim to believe. It is sort of an apologetic cry as well as a sarcastic example of what not to do and explains what the consequence of my guilt has turned in to. All at the same time God’s grace is abundant and it covers any mistake that may be plaguing my conscience and potentially keeping me from growing in my relationship with him.
