  • Tyler.H says:

there has been zero publicity about Ruth doing a covers ep…i heard they were doing an ep but nothing about it being covers…and its coming out in 2 weeks? im guessing online only :-/

    • anf says:

i agree, they need more publicity, like they deserve.
i heard that it comes out in August.
and the covers ep has a song from nearly every decade since the 50′s if i’m not mistaken.

  • Andrew says:

Ruth has a covers EP coming out in 2 weeks?! Publicity fail.

  • Stephen M says:

Good thing Lori sent me an e-mail then! :)

  • Brandon says:

Wow that’s a lot of news. I’m happy that Children 18:3 is getting radio coverage, they certainly deserve it. I want to hear that Ruth covers album, it should be good. I’m excited about The Glorious Unseen, Ruth, Jaymes Reunion, Neon Horse, and possibly Hawk Nelson if it’s good.

  • schlottermann says:

I’m actually looking forward to the Kutless Worship project. Sure Strong Tower wasn’t super groundbreaking, but it’s still one of my favorite worship albums.

I’m definitely not looking to more of KJ-52 rapping about himself. One album was enough, but every single album??

  • Tyler.H says:

who knows, schlottermann, he might right another letter to eminem!

  • Stephen M says:

LOL@TYLER. That’s the funniest thing I’ve heard all day and it’s so true. lol

  • TylerS says:

why isn’t showbread listed for the releases??

  • Tyler.H says:

because tooth and nail does very little pr for sb :(

  • Brandon says:

They need to do more PR for Children 18:3!

  • Tyler.H says:

c183 needs to come out with a new album

  • JoshIVM says:

Just to clarify a few things from the information that I have: Jaymes Reunion isn’t releasing their full length but a 6 song EP instead. Also, Ruth isn’t releasing an EP that day, just a single from the album

  • JoshIVM says:

Oh and I believe the reason Showbread wasn’t included in the releases is because the person who sent this e-mail to Stephen does not handle PR for Showbread.

  • Colt says:

This News bulletin has no mention of Project 86.

    Epic Fail.

  • Stephen M says:

Lori from overture media sent me this e-mail. She deals with Tooth and Nail and BEC. This is the e-mail she sends everyone on her list, I don’t know why it would be wrong. She is the contact I deal with everytime I need something from Tooth and Nail.

  • JoshIVM says:

I realize that and I’m not saying you posted anything wrong.

Perhaps people missed it, but it specifically states in the press release and in your post that Ruth is a single not the whole EP. I just wanted to make sure people read it right.

As far as Jaymes Reunion goes, according to the distribution, it is listed as an EP. I’m checking to verify this.

And to clear up confusion as to why some T&N bands weren’t covered, this PR firm does not handle all T&N bands just some.

  • Stephen M says:

Yeah, it does “Ruth, “The Covers EP” single “Fix You” (Coldplay) — EP coming soon!”
It’s pretty obvious that they said they are releasing a single and the EP is coming soon sometimes after that. Yeah, sorry my last statement I said when I said I didn’t know why it would be wrong was wrong. lol. The e-mail looks fine, just the Jaymes Reunion EP isn’t clarified that’s all.

  • Tyler.H says:

the wording was a little weird on the ruth thing…i couldnt tell if both the single and the ep were coming out or what the deal was

jaymes reunion…they’ve had more delays than the chicago airport in winter

thanks for clearing up the PR thing though :)

  • JoshIVM says:

Oh and I probably should share that the covers EP should be out this August.

  • Colt says:

    Ah ok. That explains things.

  • JoshIVM says:

I have confirmed that the Jaymes Reunion release is, like I mentioned, a self-titled 6 song EP releasing 9/22. Just a simple mistake in the press release.

  • Brandon says:

Why has it taken like two years to get the Jaymes Reunion album out? Is it being released by BEC still?

  • JoshIVM says:

Honestly, I’m not sure why it hasn’t. They did release a digital EP last year and a single this year. BEC is releasing it. It’s going to be priced cheap, along with The Letter Black. Part of a campaign to help new artists.

  • Brandon says:

Hey Josh, do you have any news on new signings by the label?

  • Levi G says:

In my opinion, it’s about time that Capital Lights song got some recognition. “Return” is an absolutely epic song about the return of Christ.

  • Chris says:

Weird, Ruth and Children 18:3 are two of the only bands on T&N I can stomach (along with Starflyer 59, Living Sacrifice, The Showdown, Neon Horse and August Burns Red).

I find Coldplay to be one of the most pompous, whiny and annoying bands ever but “Fix You” is one beautiful song, so when I heard a clip of Ruth’s little take, I was disappointed.

Call it undermarketing or radio stations not playing it due to bias, it’s hard to explain how Children 18:3 aren’t all over alternative rock radio. I find their vocals, which are alright, to be their weakest point but I find their choruses, particularly on “Mock The Music” to be hyper-catchy.

  • Adam says:

the vocals being the weakest point of ch183?? i dare say nay. they’re lyrics are so deep if you take the time to actually look into them, and the vocals are done in their own style of crazy punk rock.
and their new cd is coming. Lee Marie said they were going into the studio soon to record. and they are playing a new song live. it’s just as good as anything on their debut too. maybe better.

  • I second that says:

Children 18:3 are, as Adam said, working on new stuff and playing a new song live. Their lyrics are solid and their music, catchy. Chris, their vocals may take some getting used to, so if you can get beyond your dislike for their vocals, you will really see what it is that they have to say. I felt the same way about them initially but once I actually listened to the words, that did it. Good stuff! And Levi, I second that. That is my favorite radio single from Capital Lights.
