i had only ever heard one song by him. so yeah.. where i dug the song i guess i can’t really call myself a fan

i found the statement very respectful

  • Colt says:

me too; he was featured on the free christian music blog, if I remember correctly.

  • RJ says:

It’s a shame. So many people could be reached through him. It isn’t exactly anything I’d ever listen to myself, but there is a crowd who would. It seems to be a growing trend lately to see people tolerating more and more sin in their lives, it’s scary. I thought their statement was very well written and a great idea to squash any potential rumors that could arise. As I’m sure everyone knows, when no explanation is given people will make one up, and usually an extraordinary one at that.

  • dude first Ambassador now RedCloud..my Christ-centered hip-hop heroes are droppin like flies

No need to spread any more rumours with our words…

  • no, not rumors, truth.
I am actually really proud of the Christ-centered hip-hop arena. Cross Movement dropping Ambassador and Syntax dropping RedCloud is a really hard move. The two faces are the most prominent on their respective labels. It is awesome to see that level of conviction in our music scene today.
I loved it when MCMB dropped one of their founding members because he was an atheist. When you are a believer, the same rules dont apply. I these types of things make me sad for the individual, but really increase my respect for the labels/ bands who are willing to make the tough calls..

  • Brett says:

actually, i think the key thing here is that these artists were all “suspended”, not dropped. i think its awesome of the labels to give these artists the chance for redemption and change.

  • DJ B.K. says:

:( He’s one of my favorite Christian rappers! I’m praying he gets through whatever he’s going through.

  • Ian says:

@Brett-you are right man, my bad for the mis-wording. Yes, the cahnce for redemption and healing is very important..

    • Brett says:

you were still right though, its incredible to see these labels place the emphasis on Christ glorifying lifestyles beyond the music rather than money. kudos to them for going about the whole thing apparently in a biblical fashion.

  • Patrick says:

I don’t really like rap music of any kind, but I saw his show last summer and it was awesome and I really enjoyed it. I will be praying for RedClould and his family.

  • Phil Recognition says:

i’ve heard that mcmb dropping kyle because he was an atheist was just an excuse to let him go, they knew he was one to begin with. it was something else entirely

  • sam30 says:

    @ Ian:

I fully understand what you mean.
What I was meaning with my words was that all I know is the statement from the record label. To comment any further for me would be talking about something I have no place to talk about. Both statements by the labels were great, and I think they dealt with everything in the right way. I just don’t think there’s anything to gain by adding to the official statement.
Let the guys heal in their own time.

Hope you don’t think I’m speaking against you – I’m not at all.
    That’s all I was meaning.

Do you guys remember that Set Free rap group that Grock promoted a few years back? Well the ministry they were affiliated with (their father was the pastor) got raided by government officials after some kind of altercation with the Hells Angels. BUT, it appears that Set Free is still releasing a new album because I just found the page on Facebook. http://www.facebook.com/pages/Set-Free-Ministries/72783890771#/pages/SET-FREE/112086234072?ref=s
    or

    Article about the arrests:

anyway, I thought that was interesting.

    • Wow, bad news comes in threes i guess. (even tho the set free thing seems 2 b old news, i neva herd about that or the ambasador thing). Is ther an update on the set free situation brandon? It wil stil b interestin 2 hear the new set free stuf tho.

  • Brandon says:

Oh and about the information above, I will NOT be making this front page news for obvious reasons. I live in Southern California and I really don’t want any trouble. So all staff, please refrain from posting this on the main page. thanks.

  • Phil Recognition says:

    they should sign Wonder :D

  • Levi G says:

@Brandon, ha, I still have a Set Free album.

About RedCloud and The Ambassador, I agree that I am impressed with the labels. The secular community jumps on stuff like this as being intolerant or cruel, but I’m amazed that these labels understand that personal integrity is important for the rapper’s ministry and the ministry of the label. Still love these hip-hoppers, but it’s important that they aren’t sending mixed messages with their lives. We are all so sinful, but Christ has died for us, and we have to strive to live differently than we did while we were in sin. I know I have a long way to go, too.

  • not trying to spread rumors or anything, but I found out the “substance abuse” was with weed, and not like coke or anything like that.
doesnt solve the moral issue, but it does mean he isnt a junkie or anything like that, which is good.

Expect an official statement from RedCloud very soon
