I can’t get the link to download the zip file?
I had to take it down for a few minutes. It’s back up now and working. Try it!
Great! Another treat… Thanks IVM! :D
You’re missing Daven on the list!
Wow Michael that is old school ;)
Is that your ear Isaac?
no.
Sorry for the serious lack of “hard” music on this compilation. I was saving those tracks for a future compilation though I’m still unsure whether I’ll do it or not. Does anyone have an idea for what to call our official “Hard Music Compilation”. It would be all the hardcore/metalcore/screamo bands that appeared on our compilations. Plus I’d find a couple of new bands to slap on there too.
How about calling the metalcore compilation something like “Metal Servants To The King” or “Light From Alloy” or “Precious Metal” or “Fearfully and Wonderfully Rocked” I don’t know…cheesy? maybe a little bit. Sounds like i’m trying to hard. But I don’t see any other ideas. Of course it’s still early….
^ the best of ivm volume 2?
“Ow, My Freakin Ears!” Vol. 1
why do they have to scream? VOL 1.
how bout “the hardest of ivm vol 1″ ?
although metal has cheesiness, if you’re going to create a metal comp, don’t make it anything cheesy. seriously. i won’t take it seriously or listen nor will any metal fans. make it all or nothing.
Songs to slay dragons to.
Vol 1.*
I like Cory’s suggestion best*
Hey Nodes, what would you consider Cheesy? If you’re doing the artwork for it, I wouldn’t think it would be cheesy.
P.S. I like that title “Songs to Slay Dragons to Vol.1″
austrian death machine/dethklok: that mentality of using metal to make fun of itself. “oh, it’s so cliché, but we’ll play it anyway because we’re hipsters and super ironic.”
if you want to do something stupid, go do it yourself.
Okay, I’ll make sure not to have any spoof bands on this ;) I was thinking more about gathering the mp3s I have from all the comps. that fall in the “Hard” music category and putting them on a sampler plus then I’d add in several “new” tracks from bands that you guys recommend. hint hint.
someone sure sounds bitter. hate for anyone to have fun playing metal
why is it that anyone with higher goals than fun and partying is always perceived as bitter? i desire greatness, not just pleasing people and making catchy but forgetful music.
I personally have had enough “hard” music for a while. Not to go against the crowd. I don’t think it’s needed in every comp.
Well the only “Hard” bands on this compilation is Project 86 and Hands.
*bump*
Yeah, I love the way Cory’s proposed name sounds. But I’d rather have it “Songs To Slay Dragons WITH”, and not “TO”. Peace out! :D
Blood and Water made the cut…nice.
Dunno, for some reason these guys stick with me.
See alotta potential from them.
aye, good stuff here.
Songs to Slay Dragons WITH vol.1
:) lol
The download link is fixed.
great, thanks ivm..
Anyone else having trouble downloading this compilation? Or is it just me?
hey, do you guys have only Christian bands?
Define Christian bands… and if it is a negative thing for you or not?
I made a commitment to only support music which promotes Christian values, so i want to know whether all bands here are Christian or not?=)
Yes they are Liam!
Basically, at the end of the day, feel it out Liam… that is the best way I have found it to be. Since you made that commitment, you need to check out Cathy Crescendo’s song, you will LOVE it, guaranteed.
yea i did, i love their song can’t breathe, coolest song ive ever heard..
The comp should be called “Droppin’ The Hammer” and needs to include a song byThe Lost Concept. Maybe a song by Burning Yesterday (not super heavy, kinda Since October-ish).
Liam – That’s an awesome commitment to make. I personally, think that more Christians should make a stand like that. The arguments about music are typically waged over musical styles… I think that as Christians our concern should include the values espoused in the music. I just listen to the music is about as honest as telling someone that you just read Playboy for the articles. The words are there and whether we want to believe it or not, words have a powerful influence on us. The band may not drop the f-bomb every other line… but the messages you’re getting are still worldly. Just my 2 cents.
kewl=)
is red jumpsuitapparatus a Christian band? ive heard a Christian station play them..
i second the red jumpsuit apparatus question. i like them. fingers crossed they are… any news guys???
