Ruth has alot going on this fall. They have a new album called Anorak coming out October 28th which was produced by Aaron Sprinkle and Mixed by JR McNeely with Ken Andrews. This fall they will be touring with Decemberadio and playing the fall’s Acquire The Fire events. They will also be shooting a new video this September. For a description of the album and a tracklisting click below. No word yet on the album cover.
“On Anorak sonically Ruth takes everything that ruled about ’90s alternative—Nirvana, Radiohead, Third Eye Blind, Counting Crows— and peppers in the introspective finesse of singer-songwriters like Ryan Adams, and for their own extraordinary blend of impassioned, dynamic pop. “I have always been a sucker for melody,” confesses frontman Dustin Ruth. “I wanted to take all the best parts of my inspiration, combine that with a genuine presentation of my experiences in the lyrics, and write songs that people would remember and be transformed by.”

Didn’t they just release a full length last year? Wow, that’s fast.
yeah it came out June 26, 2007
Good…some consistency with a newly signed band on T&N, for once. This is a good band, and they have a lot to give us. I look forward to Anorak!
Anorak = disgustingly bad album name for them. Sounds like some terrible death metal band.
A description that includes Nirvana, Third Eye Blind and Ryan Adams makes me quite stoked for this record, though. Absolutely loved the debut after I gave it lots of time. Thought it was really dull at first.
yes John that was definitely an album that didn’t seem great at first but grows on you after a while
i have to disagree with john and bloodwater..i loved the album first time i heard it!
and john anorak is a british word meaning “a person who has an unfathomable interest in something, and feels compelled to talk at length about it”
