I have posted all the submitted logos for our “Design the Indie Vision Music Logo Contest” on the CONTEST PAGE. Click the link to check them all out and read the directions closely, then cast your vote. DO NOT VOTE until you see the logos and no voting for artists who are your buddy. Vote only for the logo you like best. So gather up all your friends and please refer them all to our site to vote in this special contest. I’m not sure the deadline for voting but I’ll probably take it down once I see the votes taper off. If you’re confused about which logo is which, just wave your mouse over the pic and the designer/logo# will pop up.

The one with the lion and lamb is awesome. It’s going to be identified by Christians and have people asking about it if you wear it on a shirt.

Ahhh!!! What to choose! I like Jay’s, and Brad’s, and the Lion/Lamb thing is pretty sweet too. Some good stuff there. You know, the Lion/Lamb behind Jay’s candle woulda been sweet…

OOOH! It’s a lion and a lamb! It seriously looked like poodles to me. I didn’t see the lion roaring; I thought it was the snout.
Not really a fan of the candle one for some reason, though they all are really well done.
Now, this is interesting!
I like the “rough” ones by John Holcomb (1-3) because they are indie in a friendly way… maybe a bit too much pop appeal, but okay for me.
4&5 are okay, the usual playing around with typo, nothing spectacular.
The ones by Isaac Ohman… sorry, I don`t like them. I am also generally against “IVM” as the main logo, it should be the full title, so that people know what it’s about when they see it.
Michael Clayton: I like the concept (even more the fact that there is one!). A bit sleek, but who says indie can’t be sleek these days. Works for me! I voted for tis one.
Jay DiNittos logo (the one with the candle) is good. Not my personal taste, but it IS goood.
Sam Coates: Nice concept, again. Implementation could have been better and more interesting.
Cory Bergman: A mixture of boring and awkward.
Denton Neal: The first one is not readable and the second simply uses the font “bleeding cowboys”, but not very skillfully. The illusion of caligraphy is destroyed be tilting the words.
Levi G: Why the huge emphasis on “vision”? I don’t like the eye. Looks retro in a bad way, but that could be just me.
Nathanial: Again, I would prefere a logo without the initials, but I like the style here.
Brad Naeher: Playing around with typo without a concept doesn’t make a good logo…

hey nate, i was wondering if you could give me some pyrotechnics advice because…BURN!
i did my logos in black and white so people would choose the logo instead of the color scheme. i’m not sure of the rules, but i am pretty sure it’s not a level field with plain examples versus finished products. this is how brandon had me make concepts before.
also, there should have been names and associations with whose these were. it’s hard enough to pick one, especially when it’s said who did what.
also, there is no contest finish date (or i am just tired and i don’t see it.)
There really is no end date for the contest. It’s basically when the votes start to taper off that I’ll decide on the final 3. Maybe a week?
hey _pole, thanks for the breakdown. You’re correct for them most part. I won’t share my opinion out here as well, especially in regards to the much loved “Jay DeNitto” logo.
I did my own personal breakdown in the forums and got ripped by Tyler H. You were even more critical than I was, haha.
A lot of cool ones. John’s first, Nodes’s first, Sam’s first, and Jay’s were all very well done…I wound up going with John’s.
Woof.
PS – I like Nathaniel’s logo(s) the best.
PPS – I was on vacation Friday – Monday night and had little internet activity, so there was no vote spamming orchestrated (if anyone had suspicions).
PPPS – I did add that blurb you see in the Buzzgrinder pingback in comment #19, but that was well after the fact.

Nothing is rigged. That is why I have the final say over the winning three designs. I did that on purpose in case one person decided to vote like a bunch of times. This is a hard decision. I personally like several of John Holcomb’s designs, they’d work well on a Tshirt but I have to go with the top 3 that are winning. There is one that is my favorite right now but you’ll have to wait till Sunday before I announce it.
I technically have 20 votes since I would have only showcased one concept and one version of the rough logo if I had known they were all going up. Not that 20 votes gets me anywhere, but it soothes the ego, haha.

Not all the people would have the combined score, after all just because someone likes your one logo first, it doesn’t mean they’ll like your other logo second. Unless they’re just different colors, in which case, you’re probably right.
