Hello all, welcome to another installment of Movie Madness. This one will be a good weekend reader for you. Here we go.
Happy Birthday to Star Wars, which turned 30 years old today. These films have left such a lasting impact on all of us over the years and it’s amazing to see how many more young kids are becoming a fan of the series through DVDs and other mediums. This franchise will live on and most likely I’m sure we’ll see another trilogy of films 10 years down the line.
Will Pirates of the Carribean 3 shatter all box office records? One only knows and I guess we’ll have to wait a few days to find out. How many of you have seen it? Speaking of the film, apparently Disney has released a new game that is an MMORPG (See: Warcraft) called Pirates of the Carribean Online. View the video for it here.
Tom Cruise will make a cameo appearance as a studio head in the upcoming Ben Stiller comedy “Tropic Thunder”
The success of Halo 3 could decide the fate of the Halo Film adaptation. Peter Jackson dropped subtle hints here.
Cate Blanchett’s role in Indiana Jones IV will most likely be that of the villain and not the “love interest” like previously suspected. Other juicy tidbits about the film have been posted here.
Nicholas Cage is no longer attached to the Untouchables prequel. Gerard Butler (300) will be playing Jimmy Malone in the flick however.
Pirates of the Carribean scribes along with Director Gore Verbinski may reteam to take on “The Lone Ranger”.
Matt Damon has said no more Bourne movies are in his future. He is done with the film franchise. However the possibility could be open for another “Oceans” film.
Some lame-brain in hollywood has decided to turn “The Sims” into a full length motion picture. Dumb. More info can be found here.
A new live action He-Man film has been planned. The Producer and Studio are in negotiations with Mattel to acquire the rights. Does anyone remember the live action film made in the 80′s? I forget who was in it but I do remember there was a film.
The U.S. Mint has debuted a special edition Quarter that has the Silver Surfer on the “Tails” side along with a special website address. I can see it now….”This one dollar bill brought to in part by the Coca Cola company…..”
The popular game “Onimusha” is apparently going to be made into a film. *Crickets*
The poster for the horror supsense film “1408″ Starring John Cusak and Samuel Jackson, has been posted.
Mr. T has pretty much denied any involvement in an A-Team film. He says he’d rather see the “Old Guys” back in a film version if he were to be involved. You can rule out any chance of a cameo too.
Dennis Hopper will play a villain in the next Quentin Tarantino flick. Just what the world needs, another Tarantino film. ha.
The trailer for National Treasure 2: Book of Secrets has been posted here.
That’s all for this installment. Take care and have a good weekend.

halo has been in development for more than a year now…and yes peter jackson is doing it. and seriously…silver surfer quarter…no matter how kool this might be honestly what the heck were they thinking.
Actually, the Halo film was put on hold until further notice.
